Yup, I just turn off the Auto LCD function, it looks like the auto brightness is messing up the playback result

Hi, I have a problem.

Took a pic during a frd's wedding dinner and the pic looks great on the screen.. But when I transferred and viewed it to my PC, the picture looks kinds dark, like underexposed.

Anyone know what the problem is?

It's either your LCD was set too bright or your monitor was set too dark.
Try to calibrate your monitor first

From my experience with the LX-3, you should always set its LCD to the lowest brightness and at least +1 exposure for indoor shots. My pictures were bad for almost a month because I had the same problem. Try to take shots with different exposure settings and experience by yourself.

Hi fellows, may I know if any of you are using B+W CPL (52mm) for ur LX3? May I know where you purchase yours from and the series? Thanx!

Shot the above in B&W Dynamic mode, RAW. However, after importing into LR, it becomes colour. Any idea if I can get LR to retain the b&w dynamic mode I shot in camera?

Yup! I am also using the same config. was really disappointed at first because the LX3 LCD screen was too bright thus giving a false info that the image is bright enough while it is not!

At first I was very amazed with LX3.Noticed that the LCD will almost not show the shadows where in reality they are there. After taking the shot, it's back to reality, the pics showed exactly how the real situation is. :dunno:

Does anyone know how much LX-3 is selling in Japan and if the set supports English?

hi,

is it normal for LX-3 to be warm (at handle/battery compartment) after continuous or some shots? mine's a little warm. i was using the compatible battery that comes with it. going to experiment with the original battery later....

please advise. thanks. :(

I have also found this article from dpreview saying panasonic has released a battery safety firmware. Has it anything to do with my problem above?

Sorry for being noob.

I have an original and a third-party battery, and it's normal to feel warm around the battery compartment after continuous usage. Regarding the software, I don't think I'd want to upload it - sekali my third-party battery can't be used!

And don't worry - we'll likely change the camera before some internal heating kills it!

Thanks for clarifying. I thought mine was abnormal. It's been a long time since I owned a digicam.

Just got the LX-3 from MS Color this afternoon together with the leather case and the lens adaptor. Have always been using the usual P&S cameras so I thought that the LX3 would be a good step up without having to delve into the DSLR universe. Anyway, got a question about the bundled third party battery - the mAh rating is waaaaaay higher than that of the Lumix's original battery - 3500mAh vs (IIRC) 1040mAh. It's probably a bogus figure but just wondering if I should even use the battery at all..

Just updated to the latest software, had no problem using the third party batt.. ;)

I don't think LR can read the camera settings, maybe Silkypix can. Usually only the "official" software can read the camera settings in RAW files (for example, my Nikon's NEF files look bland in Aperture and LR, but look great in CaptureNX, which reads the settings and applies them to the RAW file).

Check with Silkypix (I don't use it) and if it does you could write down the settings it applies and make a pre-set in Lightroom.

Someone in Flickr did a pre-set that emulates the LX3 B&W Dynamic also.

I just shoot in JPEG on my LX3 as I get beautiful prints. I only use RAW on my DSLR.

"mAh stands for Milliamp Hour, a technical term for how much power a particular battery will hold. Digital camera batteries with higher mAh values theoretically last longer without requiring a recharge, allowing you to take more photographs before you have to replace your batteries."

Hi, still a LX3 newbie. May I know how to make the background blur n focus only on the subjects? What are the settings?
I've tried the MACRO fuction but the background is still very sharp.
Thx! =)
