just to update the considered good buy I got for my LX3.

Last tuesday, I just bought my LX3 from AP(SimLim) with S680 and top up S$18 for the SanDisk Ultra II 8GB memory card.

At first, Bryan only offered me S$10 top up with 8GB Kingston card then I told him that I concern about the speed of the card, so he recommended SanDisk Ultra II with $20 top up but after bargained @ $18. (It is a high speed card better than Kingston and Lexar, which I have compared the price and spec from those memory stores. U.P. is $60.)

The items I have are,

1) Panasonic LX3
2) SanDisk SDHC 8GB ULTRA II
3) LCD Protector
4) Mini Tripod
5) Panasonic LX3 original case
6) Extra OEM Battery

The total is S$698, and I am happy with the high speed card I have @ $18.


My fren also bought the LX3 there yesterday, but they offered 680 with normal package and an extra unknown brand 4GB memory.

Please note a small incident that I encountered.

When I decided to buy, Bryan was busy with other customer and asked an uncle help to get all the items for me, and settle the payment too. Before I pass him the cash, luckily I count the items and realized it shorts of Mini Tripod and LCD Protector. Then I told the uncle and he pretend went to ask Bryan again, so Bryan told the uncle with the item list again. At this moment, I heard the uncle talked to Bryan "Deal already vat", but Bryan smile with him and took the Mini tripod and LCD protector for me. Then I paid for it.

Conclusion, should look for Bryan at AP, he is a young guy and did explain a lot to me without pushing me to buy. Other than Bryan, then beware ya bros. :sweat:

Is it really the original LX3 case with a circle protruding at the center?

i put cleaning fluid on the lens (that's before reading up) and now there's some stains on the lens underside.

where can i get the lens cleaned / serviced?

am i screwed ?

i never ever put any cleaning lotion on my compact or dslr lens...i only use a blower to clean my lens...serious case for you already...

Bring it down to the Panasonic Service centre @ queensway.
See what the guys over there can do for you.
For now, go get a AirTight Box & a bottle of silica gel.
Lock your LX3 inside it until Monday,
anyway, the service centre opens only on weekdays.

Bro, you sure "A brand new SanDisk Ultra II SDHC (15MB/sec) 100X 8GB" only cost $32? Are you refer to 4GB?

I have walked through the foto active and fulwell at 4th floor(SL) and the price is S$59.

If you hve such a good lobang, then should share to all bros here where you got it from.

Sitex was selling at $33. I bought one too. And ebay selling ard that price too if I didnt remember wrongly.

Hi All,

I went to this Max Photo shop @ Centrepoint and asked for the nikon hotshoe BS-1 today, this shop quoted me S$8 le. Then I told the guy too expensive and walked out from the shop.

Just a hotshoe charged double compare to nikon showroom, can imagine how honest they sell their camera.... :bigeyes:

Hi...Thanks for your info as I usually only either go for fuwell for Active foto buy memory as Best Bargain reputation is not so good although they are cheaper.

Well, think positively. If I need purchase the Ultra II 8GB separately then I got to top up another 12 dollars for it but I really don't like to use the 4GB card. Think it is alright too.

So sorry for your cheated. I went AMK hub today but didn't know there is a camera shop at basement.... Anyway heard someone said that the lucky plaza camera shop (can't remember what the shop name) will have stock next week, think will go down there after CNY to get the hotshoe cover.

Sorry.. not the circle protruding at the center one. Think it is the Lumix original standard case which fit the LX3 just nice. (which I prefer it more than the circle protruding one)

The box is printed 10.1 Megapixels for this camera. However, when I select megapixel from the LX3 menu, the max is only up to 9MP....

I heard from my fren, she can see 10MP from her LX3 camera.. is it something wrong with my camera?

If it is my camera problem then I would need to go down for a one to one exchange since within 7 days. Please advise.. thanks!!!!!!

Max of 10 mp. To get 10mp switch the aspect to 3:2.

Max of 10 mp. To get 10mp switch the aspect to 3:2.

Yup, I never played with the aspect since I bought and it keep to 16:9. After switch the aspect it appears as 9.5MP and 10MP too.

Hi, like to ask advice from bros here... I m gonna use my LX3 take photos for a fren's wedding soon when he picks up the bride from morn to afternoon. I am a 1st timer(for weddings) and he's not fussy but I am hoping do my best. I am trying come up with settings tt reqs min changes. Below are the settings I thought of but appreciate if bros can give any pointers or better settings..

Nature/Dynamic B/W(Picture Mode) + Face Detection(Focusing) + Multi(Metering) + Auto ISO(Limit @400) + Exposure (at 0, Auto @std level)


Was thinking set to AV mode @F/2.0 and just blast all the way but dunno if shutter mode might be a better idea

anyone use LX3 for underwater shot? i would think it is good cos of its size and weight

you also need to consider whether to use flash or not, i have taken some indoor shots like gathering, set aperture to 2.0 and take one with flash and one without, surprisingly one with flash turn out better than one without

test it out first before the actual day itself
