Hmmm...
i don't want to get to any argument here, so let me help you answer your question.:)

your question is
"can the flash be used during the video mode?"

My answer is
"no, poststrokes.
The Panasonic Lumix LX3's flash cannot be used in video mode.
Nor the flash can be used as a Flashlight torch, like the cool Sony Ericsson K750i"
:)

i've got a question..

for LX3.. are we able to adjust on the subject which we want to focus...

example..
i do not want my main focus to be in the center, but i do not want to shift my camera.. i want my focus to at the top right hand corner.. how do i achieve that?

i've tried using manual focus, but wat it can do is only to blur or sharpen my focus...
but not to shift my focus..

i remembered when i first got my camera, i was playing with it, and managed to do that.. but seems like now i cant do that anymore.. dunno isit i saw the wrong thing that time..

i tried reading the manual, only have the blur or sharpening the focus point..

can someone help me?

5) Press the focus button, just beside your trigger.

Shifting Manual focus
1) Switch to Auto focus .
2) Go to menu, go to page2.
3) Go to AF mode.
4) Choose the 1-Area focus(square within a square icon) and press the right button
5) Choose the spot u wan to focus, then switch to Manual focus.

Hope this help.

anyone know if the original battery I have is normal? The manual says it can take about 360 photos before it is drained but so far the max i have taken is only around 150 and it is totally drained.

I off the camera after taking each shot, then on it again when taking the next shot.

Hi, I feel like getting 1 of those filter+lens hood+adapter tube SET from eBay; anybody knows if their quality is reliable and got any good set/"online brand" to recommend?

I got the tube + UV filter set, the quality is quite good. Metal and fits the camera, fits additional filters with no problems.

Care to share the link or name of the set/brand? Price?

Hi,
The item I bought has expired. This is the exact same thing from the same seller except the price is different. Maybe its because of the drop of GBP recently. I bought it at about $26 plus after conversion I think.

You can search ard for others. May find one that is cheaper too.

i bought 52mm. The UV has no brand. Its a cheapo one I think.

For this, I cannot verify its new or what. I can only check the condition. Its good and looks new. I'm happy with the quality too.

I just bought a nikon hotshoe from Max Photo at Centrepoint 3rd floor for S$5 :D

Hi All,

I went to this Max Photo shop @ Centrepoint and asked for the nikon hotshoe BS-1 today, this shop quoted me S$8 le. Then I told the guy too expensive and walked out from the shop.

Just a hotshoe charged double compare to nikon showroom, can imagine how honest they sell their camera....

Hello, I was wondering if you could spare some time to explain the rest of the focus modes for me. There is a mode that is basically the 1-Area focus (square within square icon), but it has a 'H' at the bottom. It's quite confusing and I would really appreciate help.

The focus mode with the human icon is supposed to be face detection right? I tried photographing a picture of mine with a few human faces, it doesn't detect any faces though..

Also, I tried to take a macro picture of something from 5 cm away. It beeped and told me 0.30m-infinity, meaning I was too close. I think I read somewhere that this camera could focus on things 3 cm away. I found myself only able to do this with manual focus. Can somebody confirm this fact with me?

I'll really appreciate answers, thanks :)

just to update the considered good buy I got for my LX3.

Last tuesday, I just bought my LX3 from AP(SimLim) with S680 and top up S$18 for the SanDisk Ultra II 8GB memory card.

At first, Bryan only offered me S$10 top up with 8GB Kingston card then I told him that I concern about the speed of the card, so he recommended SanDisk Ultra II with $20 top up but after bargained @ $18. (It is a high speed card better than Kingston and Lexar, which I have compared the price and spec from those memory stores. U.P. is $60.)

The items I have are,

1) Panasonic LX3
2) SanDisk SDHC 8GB ULTRA II
3) LCD Protector
4) Mini Tripod
5) Panasonic LX3 original case
6) Extra OEM Battery

The total is S$698, and I am happy with the high speed card I have @ $18.

My fren also bought the LX3 there yesterday, but they offered 680 with normal package and an extra unknown brand 4GB memory.

Please note a small incident that I encountered.

When I decided to buy, Bryan was busy with other customer and asked an uncle help to get all the items for me, and settle the payment too. Before I pass him the cash, luckily I count the items and realized it shorts of Mini Tripod and LCD Protector. Then I told the uncle and he pretend went to ask Bryan again, so Bryan told the uncle with the item list again. At this moment, I heard the uncle talked to Bryan "Deal already vat", but Bryan smile with him and took the Mini tripod and LCD protector for me. Then I paid for it.

Conclusion, should look for Bryan at AP, he is a young guy and did explain a lot to me without pushing me to buy. Other than Bryan, then beware ya bros.

The face detection works for me if the ppl u shooting r nt too far from focus, I tested once shooting 2 frens with 1 closer up and the other standing further behind to prove this. Only the person in front could be captured by face detection.

FYI.. A brand new SanDisk Ultra II SDHC (15MB/sec) cost only $32
