Hi fellows, where can I get the lenspen with the smaller and "curved" head ah? Cos I go most places they sell the standard-sized, "flat-headed(meant for flat-LCD screens) for ard $15 and higher. Heard I can get for $10 right?

Prefer smaller one, cos I tink the standard sized one too big to wipe in circular motion, i.e. move here move there hit the perimeter liao.

P.S. So, xtemujin, u got ur BS-1 already?

Hi, for those keen to know, I've applied the stick-on filter which I bought from OP yesterday, onto my LX3 this morning.

This filter is not the same as the one that turns up originally in the forums, as mine has a metal ring as a "border"(non-removable). I much prefer the other kind, where the whole piece is like a piece of glass with nth fancy.

the filter comes with 2 protective layers: the 1 on top protects the outer glass surface and resembles those protective plastic film which comes on new watches. The bottom layer is "covering" the adhesive "rim"(& it has "3M" stencilled in a pattern; though whether if it's really 3M, I dunno lah).

Oh, forgot to mention, while mine's different from "Excel-glsi's", according to the packaging which I posted earlier, it does seem to come from this brand, "GGS", which appears to be the same company that makes the glass LCD screen protector that xtemujin was looking for.

Anyway, after removing the 3M sticker backing, it turns out that the filter attaches to the lens barrel(NOT the lens directly lah) via a "ring" of common adhesive double-sided tape, whether it got special 3M property, I dunno lah. Quality of this ring of tape isn't very high, I am able to lift a portion of it OFF the filter if I remove the sticker backing roughly.

Application is rather easy. But what I dislike is that the metal rim of my version covers all the tiny words printed on the lens barrel rim. Not very swee. The worse was when I remove the plastic protective film off the TOP of the filter, there appears to be residue left over! I'll post some photos late; what u see circled in red in the photo is really what you see, not because my E71 cannot focus properly.

And it can retract fully back into the camera housing; no worries abt lenscap.

So, I'm not sure whether it bcos mine copy wasn't packaged cleanly, but the main points're:

1. My version is different from "Excel-glsi's"; and I prefer his.
2. No fancy adhesive, just a RING of double-sided tape on the under-side.
3. Sticks on perimeter of lens barrel; metal rim covers word
4. I expect it to be easily removable with a little force, i.e. just pluck off
5. Quality doesn't inspire confidence; condition of surface outta-the-box, doesn't inspire much confidence either.

All are out of the Nikon BS-1 hotshoe cover.

I'll update it here when there is stock, or someone else will give a heads up.

im quite annoyed with having no protection... coz might accidentally touch lens with finger etc.... this is still quite ok, but of coz the other version will be better...

covering the camera lens wordings not swee i agree!!

No problem, maybe when u pass by OP, can help us ask(specifically for the non-rim version)? & it's a silver rim, not a black rim.

Anyway, OT a bit...

I was out looking for lenspen. I bought 1 from J3:16 for $15 b4, so hunting for even better price. Saw the ProPak I on sale at Courts for $22(as indicated in ink on the back of every packaging), and yah, I know the $13.90/$18 price tag way back. But to me, 4 pens for $22? Still good...then I went over to CP at Peninsula. Guess wat, they quote me $39 for ProPak I! Then in e end, bought the 1-piece version(DigiKlear, same as the one I bought frm J3:16 b4), for... ...$10 in Harvey Norman in Funan basement:

P.S. If anybody know where got sell the 1-piece MICRO/MINI lenspen, pls lemme noe. I can give to my fren for her Sony T200(kena waterfall spray like siao).

You are right. But must make sure Intelligent ISO is set to off else cannot select ISO value.

The only reason I'm gonna take that filter off now is because I'm probably going for the traditional adapter tube plus polarising filter.

Not very satisfied with this product. Now, anybody knows what adapter tube model and what polarising filter to get/recommend for the LX3?

You already mentioned that the filter attaches to the lens by a two sided tape, right? So if you remove the filter, the adhesive will remain on the lens, and in some case, you can't reattach the filter to the lens again if the adhesive is removed?

2. nothing is touching the lens, the adhesive will at most remain on the rim of the lens barrel
3. If I remove the filter, I probably wun be using it again.

i just called John 3:16 for the hotshoe cover, they told me not to get one, as if i use the camera with it, it will cut off the auto-flash.
is that true ? anyone can test it out to see if it's true?

It's just a piece of plastic with no electronic component in it; I dunno how they can hinder the auto flash.

Funny y nobody buy the hotshoe cover from nikon showroom. I got mine there when I was there to clean my lens. Can try calling to check whether got stock a not. Got it last month I think.
