...how much does it cost? browsed thru and some said it's $25?!

anyway, i already bought a lock&lock container and put my camera inside already ( no drying agent inside ).. should be fine right? i need to get a bag for it next, any recommendations? no lowepros or the likes ( which is widely suggested ).. cos i'm just looking for something that protects from scratches, and not for drops and stuff. the lowepro is really too big and makes it bulky. looking somewhere along the lines of bagman..

I got my A*F blower(the blue one) from John 3:16 at $15. Actually, I suppose as long as u keep it in a cool, DRY area with no large fluctuations in temperature, a PnS shld b just free without drying agents. But that's IMO lah.

Any reason why u dun wanna get a drying agent?

hmm, it's just my opinion also actually.. since by past experience i just keep my PnS-es in my drawers ( don't even have dry box/air tight), use them occassionally ( like once a week ), but they're still churning out good pictures till now.. so i'm thinking why i'm buying so many "add-ons" for a compact right? that was the reason i bought a compact instead of basic dslr, so i won't contract the BBB disease.. lol

finally got an idea how it looks like. seems just like a normal 'blower' used to pump balloons, just that better designed for cleaner air.

i guess it can't remove finger prints that occasionally stay on the lens.

For fingerprint & smudges u'll need a lenspen I suppose but do get rid of any loose particles B4 using.

A*F blower costs $15 frm John 3:16; same for their lenspen.

I've update my firmware to the latest version 1.1 but yesterday when i took a photo & when i check the properties the program name is still version 1.0, like to seek and check with bros here is tis normal? I can ensure that my upgarde is correct so is there anything i can do?

Can check from your firmware version. Does it shows Ver. 1.1?
If not, do try to download again. I tried twice before my camera reads it as version 1.1.

Anybody know where I can purchase a hotshoe cover such as e Nikon BS-1 for the LX3? Lords outta stock till 2 weeks later & most other shops in Lucky Plaza dun sell it on it's own.

You have to be careful about this. Lock & Lock or airtight boxes are made of plastic materials called PP (Polypropylene). They are non-toxic that's why they are widely used for storing FOODS. On the other hand.. they are subject to attack by chlorinated solvents and aromatics. It also Oxidizes readily, which means they could react to the battery or circuitry inside your camera.

Whereas commercial DRY BOXES are made of plastics materials known as ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) which is know for it's electrical insulation properties and heat resistance.

Dry Box usually cost around $25-$30 from Carrefour which IMHO is a safer choice in storing your PnS camera. I should know because I work in the plastic industry.

May I know which shop you referring will stock the BS-1 in 2 weeks time.
