the following may be a shocking incident to some but no offense to any fans of MS Color or Panansonic - On Sun, I called Florence regarding the above incident.. she confidently told me bring my set to her shop and will do a 1-to-1 exchange if my set's condition is new and gd.
I went today evening.. met her.. checked my set..she said my set condition great. She asked for my customer portion of warranty card. I tot "lucky..she honoured her word..this issue settled easily and peacefully" She took her cordless phone went to a corner n made a call. Mins later, she came back tellin me..panasonic agent say cannot exchange..reason is cos i filled up my customer portion alrd. I tot.."ok, guess too late, she sent the service center portion to them and probably has my record in their database" I asked how? She say go to panasonic service center tom get it repaired... something I dun wan(will reveal later). I insist on 1-to-1 exchange which she agreed earlier on. She just tell me nt to worry, go there sure can settle.
She went in her office and came out with my other portion of warranty(the portion which she kept when I bought) to pass to me. I was shocked.. I looked at tt portion..nothing filled up,just scribbled w the cam serial no. She saw my angry look den tok **** say "Lucky u made the trip down so I can pass this other portion to u or else with just the customer portion, the service center wont entertain u also" My mind was screaming..."WTF? Y r u keeping this portion den if u didnt pass to Panasonic?" I controlled my temper but w a sour look I asked... "Y not u just b nice help me exchange here den just tear both portions of the warranty card and its gone.... for good!" She refused..say she cant sell my problem set anymore since warranty card already filled up...I tot she should just direct reject back to agent! keep asking me go down say sure no prob....sensing I was angry.. quickly pack my cam and accessories into box to see me off..
I walked out of MS..very angry. Went back and nicely asked for the agent's contact tt she spoke to earlier. She looked reluctant...I was damn black face and all her assistants lookin at us. She passed me a card, say look for Ryan. I walked off.. proceeded to call Ryan..identified myself as the customer Florence mentioned earlier on. I spoke in a stern tone..if the technicians certified this set faulty,I want 1-to-1 exchange as Florence agreed and not to send in for repairs. He paused den say bring down tom see how after his technician access my cam..Still tok **** say he stay tamp(near me)..can pass back to me as favor if i cant make it to collect. I ended the stupid call.
To me , this obviously is a case of Florence pushing me to Ryan den pushing me to technician. What warranty card hassle they making when warranty card nt even been sent but collecting dust in Florence 's office? If any frens of MS or Florence find this incident doubtful cause of their great repo, pls feel free call and ask Florence to confirm. I wont be sending this cam cause I noe if exchange 1-to-1, I will get a refurbished set. If repaired, hi chances are 1 prob leads to another and I will make freq trips there. I noe hw service center operates cause I have frens working such operations b4.
I will share this incident in other forums...not to cause malice to anyone's reputation but sharing as a consumer experience. Nothing above has been made up and everything said is nothing but the truth as happende ;(
actually you can choose to walk away if you feel that they are not honouring the price they quote you over the phone...
i bought at $680 for: LX3, 4GB card, free original case, OEM battery.
then top up $10 for screen protector.
so overall price is $690....
felt price ok so bought.... dun believe the story of promotion over or what.... they have enough profit margin to play around with....
its a matter of who you talk to and how you bargain.... also sometimes the sales staff can be very rigid and refuse to reduce...
then go back on a different day or take your business to another place....![]()

Hi fellows. Super-noob qn here: for those who need to post their warranty card themselves, just paste a stamp on the "outgoing" portion & dump into the post box ah? Dun need to put in an envelope ah? Leave that single piece exposed just mail like that?
yes if the stamp is paste on the outgoing portion then just send as it is without any envelope.
but if you kaisu, then send in an envelope loh.
Oklah, I also not going to buy my camera from MSColor too.

do you need to use filters to do long exposures during the day? i mean... everytime i try, it just gets totally exposed. im talkin white image. maybe with a few visable streaks of whatever...what do the filters do? do they just reduce the light comming through? couldnt i turn down the ISO from say 400, which is what i normally shoot at, to 100? i think that makes it darker... or would 800 and up make it darker? if i turn the ISO down, aswell as set the aperature high, like... f22 or something, would that create better results aswell??
