I'm using a 2x teleconverter with a 80-200.

Should be okay. I'll be using a 70-300...but i only managed to get a x1.7 teleconverter. using my crop sensor body.

Slightly overcast sky. I was doing sunset shots but didnt turn out well. You can get a clear view of the moon. its was orangey-yellow, the moon looked slightly foggy when I left at 8pm. its sufficently isolated from city lights... some people were already taking photos of the moon haha.

500mm should be pretty good. This was taken with a 500mm refractor. Camera was a webcam, so image quality not very good.

A problem with long focal length lenses is you will find the edge of the moon requires a different focus than at the middle. A good practise is to focus 1/3 the distance from the edge, sort of to average the focusing.

BTW later i am going snow city, if anyone want to join can meet there :).

Drive to the very end of the road. there will be a parking area with street lamps. there's another carpark just slightly before you reach the one right at the end. It has no street lamps. so be careful of your gear, or bring a torchlight like me. not much parking space... hope there wont be too many people...

Isn't the setting of the Moon to be at western part of Singapore? Why is everyone going to camp at Punggol end?

just saw my friend post about this on Fb i had totally forgotten about this. i stay near science center i guess i will go down later anyone going too?
