Living in HDB: Ever heard marble dropped in the night?

sometimes i do hear about the marbles in the middle of the night...... :sweat:
actually i'm convinced it's not whatever structure thingy. my 'neighbour' upstairs seems to be opening some kinda renovation workshop thingy, keep hearing thumping like hammers now and then, for the past 12 years. oh yeah, furniture dragging and marbles too.
furniture dragging sounds like metal tables dragged across the concrete floor, while marbles really sound like real marbles dropping then coming to a stop. and it happens yet again.

this reminded me of a story. don't know if you have heard it before..
there was this one time, i boarded a SBS double decker bus late at night, on the way home.
as i was about to go up to the top level, a man stopped me. "don't go up"
i thought he heard something up there, or saw something dirty, so i didn't. throughout the journey i just kept quiet, and prayed nothing spectular happen. i just want to reach home safely.
finally, after a seemingly endless ride, i reached my stop. unable to control my curiousity anymore, i asked the man, why did he stop me.
he replied..
"upstairs very dangerous. no driver..."

Err...almost ANYTHING, not just marbles that may bounce a few times will kinda sound like marbles dropping.
I know, I have often had slippery fingers and droppes stuff in the middle of the night and it goes tiak tiak tiak tiak tiak .... just like marbles!

Funny thing is that just yesterday I had this discussion with my wife. We had heard this marble drop for the years we had been living in our hdb flat. Though few people had informed me that it is a sign of the "other side", my family had learned to live through this and just ignore it. We live in woodlands.
ok, the "marbles" sound a lot of ppl hears in HDB flats is simply because of the contraction of the building structure. Hence, even top floor ppl can hear them, and that is why u often hear them rather late at night or during hot afternoons.
As all know, when night falls and temperatures drop, matter contracts. Different matter expands and contracts at different speed. Our flats aren't just made of concrete. U have metal rods as well. Different contraction speed between these 2 -> them rubbing against each other -> sounds...
Even between the different concrete blocks will not "move" at the same pace and same amount.
A lot of times, it's often the logical and natural stuff taking place that we aren't aware of, not the supernatural.

So did anyone encounter any Super Natural Being before? I did encountered once years ago when my brother & I was on our way to a running track in the old New Town Sec. Sch. It just happen that my brother saw it first & I was convinced at that very moment. It's just standing there not more than 15m away from us just under our block. You know those very old blocks with occupance living groundfloor.
Then few weeks later, a lady fell from 9th storey from our block & her head was in that small drain face down & blood oozing into the drain.
2 weeks or so later, as my brother (as I've mentioned above) wake-up on the middle of the night & heard someone crying (lady voice) coming from the groundfloor, I think? That's what he told me because he's sleeping closest to the room window. S**t, that was scary man.
That is the one time & I hope is the last time to ever see or experience that again. Scary seah!
