Living in HDB: Ever heard marble dropped in the night?

strange, very strange. this topic was like posted 2 years ago......

Prob just plumping system noise lah... nothing to worry abt. Look at it this way, who is playing marble at mid of the night? Dragging of furniture is possible not it's more likely taht someone knocks over his furniture on his way to toilet.

someone 'shifting' the bed i suppose... u will always hear ppl shift position of beds at night... some shift more often then the other...

well, or go with the suggestion concluded by the straits times:

if everything else is so hard to believe, then yes, the answer is that it really is children playing with marbles in the middle of the night. :bsmilie:

I also heard this in my old place (early mornings), and after seeing it in temples, I came to the conclusion that it was these.........didn't check upstairs if this was correct though.......I maybe wrong........

I think they sound very different.. the "wooden thing" will settle down much faster than marble when dropped. Probably "tad tad tad tad..".. Marble sound "tad..... tad.... tad... tad. tad. tad..."

there wasn't a conclusion...they dilly dallying with confirmation...the authorities didn't want to make an actual investigation. Even if there was...probably covered up and hush hush.

Just like the mrt accidents, it was caught on tape...but denied. (the subsequent accidents, they changed the non-recording ones to recording ones. No? Have to correct me on that if im wrong...)

For me, eversince I started living in apartments. Even when I shifted to Sengkang, when I was sure nobody was above me (new flat), noise still came...

Only those wo have actually heard the marble dropping noises will know how it exactly sounds like and it is far off from the sound of some metal rebar bending, contracting, extending, or any form of metal moving sound.

It is a distinct sound, of glass marble dropping on concrete/tiles or marble florring.

it was a tongue in cheek conclusion lah. so was my post. kids don't usually stay up so late at night to play marbles ah, their own parents will swipe them on their head to tell them not to make noise. :bsmilie:

Yeah, you maybe right, my experience was early mornings but not every morning........ghost apparently don't need sleep...........they do like to play with marbles.......hmmmmmmmm, I wonder why?

an old man lives alone in the apartment above ours.... and i hear marbles dropping too...and also glass shattering.. in the middle of the night furniture dragging too.... freaky :S!!
