Which shops in HKG, u went to?
plus air fare and hotel stay...still worth it?

80% at New Sankyo 20% at Sim City or Mong Kok smaller camera shops.

I've relatives in HKG so free accommodation. Air fare considered worth it as I also holiday and fly off from HKG to other countries.
Erm ,not linked here but booking travel packages in HKG is way cheaper than in SG. For example a 6 day stay in Seoul from HKG is around 40% cheaper than booking from SG

Got mine at $117X at new Sankyo for 12-35. think Sim city can find even better prices but difference is New Sankyo buying is straightforward , Sim city is like Sim lim of the past where u gotta hunt around for the best deals

I think it'd be quite hard to find camera equipment in HKG that's more expensive than SG
A rule of thumb I follow is should be at least ~20% n above cheaper before I will buy. One example is my 12-35mm was around 30% cheaper than the best price in SG I was offered.

Ya, i recieved a couple of replies. I realised that e frame is abit tight for me, therefore i got oly 17mm f1.8 which i think more suitable for my streets.

Nevertheless, im still looking at panny 12-35mm for travel friendly.

Yes Amazon Japan cheaper always. The delivery would take less than 12-14 days. Hope you would not keep on asking "cheaper" or so on. You ought to do the research of price comparsion 1st before you can decide to buy within your budget like I did for myself without relying on anyone or posting for help.

No idea about that , I did pay around 7300GHKD for my 12-35mm from them in dec 12

i suggest you order from amazon jp and forward to tenso for shipping back to sgp. if its true from what cser says, no gst, then all in would only cost max SGD610

Amazon Japan is selling the 12-35mm for less than 1k. Factoring in shipping and taxes here. Still makes good sense to buy from JP.
