Leica M10 to be Announced?

Amendment to my prediction:

1. B&W M is real. It will be announced on May 10th.
2. 2 Hermes edition M9-P, 1 single lens and 1 3 lens kit with Hermes bag. One of the lens is supposed to be a chrome 35 Lux FLE.
3. X2

There maybe other things announced on that day like new lenses etc but the M10 will not be there.

I really feel Leica made a huge mistake letting the M series go digital, it has alienated many traditional M users. Of cos they can't make the same mistake as Kodak, but they could have start a new lineup instead. With film Ms, they never grow old, they are built to lasts lifetime if serviced when needed. Well digital Ms? They are built to last a lifetime with technology that last a few years or so. Just how desirable is an M8 now? And how many real photographers have switched from using M9 to the Fuji X pro1? God knows how they choose the people to endorse their cameras now... seriously?

Leica today is not the same Leica previously.

Todays Leica targets luxury segment, what Leica is selling is a lifestyle - look at Leica X2, same old 260k pixel LCD. Do you really think Leica is targetting a reasonable consumer? Look at 50 cron APO - its F2! Leica is selling an emotion...

Like all luxury segment marketing, Leica is pressing your emotional buttons. In terms of real performance,...

The naked eye can only see so much. Pixel peeping takes you further, but only so far. Leica marketing understands one important thing - love is blind. It occupies your blind spot, so you will never see it real side, but you will always love it.

Leica was not always like this, but it is now. Its nothing wrong for luxury segment, except that its a distraction from actual photography itself

I fully agreed with artspraken remark about Leica current marketing strategy. I have my 1964 M3 and it's still functioning well, let's give another 10 years, look back & see who is still using M9P or M10.

Which is the best M film camera?
