Not likely D300 price will drop that much. D700, if the sources are true is a FX (digital 135 full frame) body and the price will probably be somewhere between D300 and D3. Unless you already have a lot of full frame lenses, DX is still a cheaper option for many.

Just another info, i called up TK Foto to check the D200 package, but they do not have 18-55mm VR left so they are selling D200 with 18-135mm for $1750 with GST
