ok that one good reason:thumbsup: how about users that thinking of buying a DSLR ?

cheers

Not likely D300 price will drop that much. D700, if the sources are true is a FX (digital 135 full frame) body and the price will probably be somewhere between D300 and D3. Unless you already have a lot of full frame lenses, DX is still a cheaper option for many.

It looks like both the D200 and the D40 are a really big bargainsright now, GSS. Guess Nikon has already recoup her R&D expenses on these 2 models, so, just sell at a reasonable margin.

It looks like it goes this way - start at launch price, then, as the months and years goes by, gradual drop until just before RIP, one big fat drop.

You can use adaptor for your nikon lens to fit canon.
haha.

There is only one reason why I never buy Canon until now, it is because they don't have "Auto Iso" :bsmilie:
Because I'm just a lazy noob and don't want to change iso manually everytime I wanna take a pic.
With Nikon I just set the highest iso and lowest shutter speed and all done!

I never thought that AUTO ISO could be such a plus point. :bsmilie:

Even D80 also have auto ISO and I used it almost all the time. One setback is that the auto ISO is on even when set to Manual mode. I have to manually disable it. Troublesome but not not too inconvenient though.

hmm...

:kok: Get a hold of your self.... fight the temptation....

anyone knows the current price of d40?
just the body,
many thanks.

if they really sell the new D700 at the estimated price of $4.5K SGD, it's really a big difference between D700 & D300 price ;
( >$4.5K vs $2350 current D300 price at AP & Lord's )....i absolutely doubt the new D300 body price will dip further.

It's reached its lowest price for now......or at least until the (new) D3X launch within 12 months maybe from now?...., then D3 price dip, then D700 price dip, & thennnnnnn....D300 new price will dip.

therefore, the influencing factor is still the much anticipated D3X !

on the other hand, in fact....Canon 5D $$ will dip!...Canon would definitely come up against this new Nikon model ( D700 ), & as usual, Canon would try to retain its market share in the semi-pro FF cam body market.

in the end, we consumers still win! coz competition amongst these top 2 brands would only mean better choices ...

basic fundamentals & marketing physics ...just my humble opinion.;)
