Called Sony today about my camera. They don't seem to know when it will be ready. Guess I'll have to wait.

Talked to Sony again they put me to their engineer. He took a look at the camera and siad he do the cleaning and should nothing major hapen I should get the camera back by Friday.

Got a call from them my camera is back. I better bring a lens to check if everything is OK.:)

good to know that, can see you miss your camera very much. Wonder it make your wife jealous or not.

No charge the camera's under warranty. Can't see any speck on the view finder and at F16 the sensor looks clean. :)

hey good for ya..now i'm tempted to send my camera in for cleaning too..haha

Saw a guy at the service center sending in his Dynax 5 with lens for cleaning. Saw his lens a 75-300mm lens. It was badly infected with fungus. Told the guy don't bother to get it clean it would be more cost effective to buy a new lens.

Sad for him though he told he bought it some time ago but only started using it. Lesson learnt always get a dry box or use silica gel.

Think I'll send my D5D and kit lens in for cleaning after this weekend's shoot.

Been under snow, rain and sea sprays. Fortunately, the last I'd checked, its not dead.. yet. I wonder how long can I abuse it as a travel cam before it goes up the lorry.

Camera is up and running. Yeah!

The turnover time with Sony is quite fast. The rate limiting step is actually the time of delivery of camera to the KM technician, which took 2 days. Once the technician receives it, the valuation and servicing took only 2 days where the 2nd day, the camera is already at the service centre.

All in all, I sent in camera on Sunday night, received call to pick up camera on Thu morning. They helped clean up my mirror too. :)

Wow that's fast. They took a week on mine and that was with me bugging them.
