Wonderful series... Like Photostories..
It gives a different feeling from photos we constantly see..
Maybe your series might be adopted by Police force for some usage?keke...cos the guy smoking looks cool enuff to be a warning poster.

the male model's bad guy face ;)

This is funny... your male model friend muz really want to tie you up now and do his own photo series on kidnapping.

I like how you are always experimenting and trying to better the last photo you last took. Puts me to shame in the way i have not dared much to venture.

And nice series! i was wondering how you pulled off #6 with the flying water droplets but stationary(?) subjects. Would it be more realistic if the victim's face was in motion blur to complement the flying sweat/saliva, for more realism? And would it be more realistic if the knife was also involved in #3, since it was available in #5 when threatening the victim? #8 is really nice, I think you could have told the story with #8 and #12 alone! :D

Anyway i really don't get the point on what is wrong with complimenting. It would be wrong if it was taken in real life, i.e. someone was tied up and beaten up for real against her wishes and people stand by and take photos instead of helping. It's not like we're not applauding the Myanmar police for pummelling the monks and protesters, or the Taiwanese parlimentary scuffles, or Adrian Lim for his perverse disembodiments and sacrifices, amongst many other violent/perverse acts found in our Eastern side of the world. Those are controversial issues, this is just a staged shoot, so relax...

Here we comment on the approach, technique, set up, make-up, directing, photography. If the photos are OOF, or the story doesn't flow, or the make-up looks like a ketchup bottle accident, I'm sure there will be critique on it. The costume difference was highlighted no? That at least helped me make a mental note that if i ever plan a story series, the wardrobe must correspond as well from picture to picture.

I'm surprised to find such conservative thinking in this age and time. I guess we're free to our individual views, but based on the judgement passed on us who comment, and the TS who planned and executed the shot, i infer that there are some of us do not watch TV/movies, for all that is shown would be found too offensive to bear? and the people who review movies are lambasted in the same way i guess.

Hypocrisy is a strong word to use. I think we have to reflect on ourselves, is there not the least bit of a hypocrite in us, before we can slap it upon others?

sorry to TS for digressing a little here...

sorry, not my cup of tea either.

Wow!!! The pictures shocked me! Anyway nice one!:D:thumbsup:

Hey this borders on personal attack. You can disagree with the idea but you should not have indirectly call him a pervert.

erm.... wannabe? pls choose a better word.

and all of us, agree happily doing such theme. really. pls dun get the wrong idea and assume for the worst

er hero got thrashed? villian continues his reign of terror.

maybe a gory scene when the villian has the hero's head on the table ;p

tat will definitely make ppl hate me more. haha

SO is you.. haha...

you truly acted the character out well!

heh heh. first time only leh. tat female model and i have been doing a lotta couple shoot. but not much at all like this 1. this really blow our mind away.

{sample} http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=514765

and for you who blame sprintist for using us, pls, take back yr words. it's JUS ACTING. it's like posing wif different emotion. you dun see ppl scolding mediacorp's actor rite?

and we really enjoy the shoot. we were like smiling all the way. even right after the picture is taken. so pls. it's nothing wrong. seriously

no offence bro, but if this is perverted, then Mediacorp is definitely the ultimate pervert for producing dramas of such scenes, rape even. :bsmilie:

MediaCorp's idea of a rape scene:

Scene 1.

Girl walks into house.

Guy follows behind.

Closeup of weapon in guy's hand.

Scene 2.

Guy grabs girl from behind.

Scene 3.

Exterior shot of house/apartment

Scene 4.

Following day already.

Girl crying with clothes in messed up condition, hair messed up.

End of MediaCorp TV's "rape" scene.

Good story series, however, there is really no excuse for the change from the pokka dot top to the white top, no matter what is said, it does not eliminate this near fatal flaw.

It does not mean that the photography is subpar, nor that the story did not work. They both deliver, but, all was marred by that one flaw.

They're just jealous that they can't get the same kind of realism this shoot has shown us.

It's like how you scold the actor for dumping the pretty and nice girl for a rich and spoilt brat just for her money in dramas. haha.

It just means the pics have impact!

Okay lor, I guess you will consider a large percentage of movies, tv shows and novels as being perverse as well. Standards differ, and I guess yours is pegged at a very low bar, or maybe on a different scale from most people.

I'm also not quite sure where you got the idea of rape when all I see in the photos are a kidnapping and roughing up sequence.

yeah it's great the great thing about art is that everyone brings their interpretation to the table
maybe the scary part of this photo series is that I feel like I'm part of the scene, like I'm the kidnapper, and maybe it just reflects on what I would do in such a situation

To clarify, when I call something perverse it's not a bad thing at all. I would call it a compliment almost.
just to clear up any misunderstanding. jing gives a
but jing does not advocate kidnapping and rape ok, boys and girls.

that's after it went thru censorship board.. :bsmilie::bsmilie::bsmilie:

i'm not promoting violence here but like you said yes, re enacting. i wouldn't outrighly say its right or proper to shoot this but rather, perhaps i would not have shown it here :) and just keep it private.

please don't make it sound as though i'm making them to pose suggestively for my portfolio (if really insist then i bo wei gong liao), i still dare say i never shot a girl in bikini or lingerie :bsmilie:

Sad isn't it?

Going by the spate of activists who hold little or no responsibility for their overbearing actions, to extreme prudes right down to diedatic mentalities that seem to still be in the dark ages, perhaps we should all shoot rocks and lichen.

Wait!

Even if we did, I'm DEAD SURE someone would get experimental and then have accusations of being deviant, demented, violent, vulgar and pornographic, among other things, levelled at them!!!

And to think that CS is Singapore's most prominent and largest photography forum, and in more than one sense, platform.

Ok lah...guess we are going OT already.

Be careful, maybe TNP is among us and ready to quote your nick to be published on tml's newspaper.

Later mediacorp may sue some of you for defamation

:dunno:
