K-5 Officially Announced :D

bro, let it go, u already had **k worth of high canon, nikon and mf digital back already.
this apsc is not suitable for professional like u

let me point out that the first doesn't imply the second.

unless professional means "professional camera tester"... but then again, i don't think he's paid. :bsmilie:

if it means "professional photographer", ok, understandable... after seeing the "reporter" lurking around this parts, i am convinced that you don't need good photographic skills to earn a living from photography... or generate income from it. so fair enough.. :bsmilie:

gotta love brotherly love!

Any news on pricing here from MJ yet ? I have to see what i need to sell away, else its using my daughter's Ang Bao money...:bsmilie:

I think I might have to stayed with K20d for the next 2-3 years.

AF is so much faster

[vid]d4nv2QGktbw[/vid]

Seems like close 2x faster :sweatsm:

wow, cool K5, just like a machine gun :D

The AF speed and live view i will wait till i get my hands on them and test it then im convince its fast... these test doesn't really prove anything...

The live view are in a ideal situation, things that dun move and against a white bg... plenty of contrast... The AF test, dunno what he is shooting in the first place...

The real test is when situation are REAL and in DIFFICULT conditions, not ideal situation... just like those AF speed test on youtube, show how fast the lens is turning, but does that mean focus lock is fast ? fast turning speed does not = fast focus lock...

However, the iso6400 sample from PF... that is real... i just made a iso6400 on my D700, although its different subject, different lens, but i just want to see the grains that is from D700 compared to K-5... And i can confirm, K-5 is AT LEAST on par with D700...

That's great! Let's hope the final released version is even better :)

I was optimistic on the ISO performance, but quite skeptical of the AF.
But after the videos..

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

K5 + 18-55 WR only???
where is the 18-135 WR????:dunno:

Don't know leh. But I've seen the original JPG output from a K5 w/ v0.2 firmware, at ISO6400, it's almost like ISO400 to 800 from K7...

I think that's because the K5 uses Sony's low noise sensor similar to the one on the kx and not the noisy samsung ones. I could see a tremendous difference in noise between the kx and k7 (image quality not withstanding). Sony presently has amongst the lowest noise sensors in mass production (although some others are already annoounced) today, so it makes sense to use theirs.
:)

BTW, I just noticed from the korean review site that the built in flash appears to pop up higher now. Does this mean that for some of the longer zoom lens, you may not see the shadow anymore? If is true, well done to pentax for being so meticulous!

..... too bad ........... I already have the NX10 and I can switch off the NR on that little thingy :) and before I forget .....................I still can't see the bloody LED readout on the Pentax in bright sunlight .......... :p

Bro
Better check and adjust the diopter next time you try it again. At our last outing, in bright sunlight, I checked the display with a few others and ALL could see it clearly. Ben was the only one who had problem until I realised it was his diopter that was way out. After adjusting, he could see it clearly too. :)

.....there are people who still use Pentax ............. because they already have the equipment ................. what would you call them?

If they do not know what they want, we call them "Lost". ;p:bsmilie:
