Thank u for your PM. I think mebbe i reply u here for the benefits for the others.
Firstly I can't find any of your sample photos that u hold up as examples of what a good lingerie shot is all about.
It's always very easy to pass comments on other's photos, say this and that abt other's photos thinking that one can always do better. A very natural human response. But when YOU actually do it, YOU might even make more mistakes and others can also easily find faults with YOUR photos as well.
But i shall give u the benefit of the doubt and take it as u r sincere in giving your comments. So I shall look forward to seeing some of YOUR great photos someday when u finally have them and hopefully i wun think of u as being an armchair critic after that.
Meanwhile, for the folks here, I would say it's a very admirable effort given it's their first time and this is not a full-scale commercial shoot.
Yes admirable effort for first timer. Case closed. Let's move on.
Yes comment anyone can give but whether it's constructive is another. You have to know what you comment on and give pointers here and there to improve. The reason for me commenting is only Joho has given valuable comments. Apart from him, the rest is just admiring her assets which does not help the original poster.
You have to bold to comment on the photos. Not just about compositions, colours, small little nitpicks like hands not right, or hair messy. Even after all this, if the photos does not look appealing, all this small problem does not really matter that much. Until you know how to get the right feel about shooting human subject and get it right, small little nitpicks does not seem so obvious, right?
I do have other shots posted in other threads but not the lingerie ones as my clients do not give me full permission to post it online. The only way is through my laptop which I show it only to my potential clients.
At the end of the day, what I am trying to establish here is able to shoot human which will look and feel more lively, no matter what they wear.
I have shot lingerie before and from what I can remember, I made very little mistakes. First I have made it clear in my first post, you need preparation. Not just go and shoot. So I always will do my homework first before the actual shoot.
I do not really go for paid shoots unless my friends ask me to go for one. Normally is the models/clients pay me to shoot them.
Human all do mistakes but experience ones make lesser.
And no, I am not an armchair critic for the benefit of your doubt.
And no, one do not need to display works to prove they are good critics. Great portfolio does not prove anything.
