I am planning a trip to Japan in Dec for me and my wife.

Thinking of visiting Hokkaido for the snow but was advised to go to Osaka instead as was told got mroe things to see there.

I'll keep myself updated with this thread.

is there early departure from kyoto and tokyo? other than 8pm? is it a lot of thing to do there? how come you want to leave so late from kyoto

haha...no....auntie uncles...haha

family trips tend to have different focus, i feel. esp when there are people of different ages without common interest.

to maximise the time spent in Kyoto... as we'll have more than sufficient time in Tokyo...

Somehow it seems like we have some similarities in traveling. I think i walk approx 40-50km everyday while traveling. Walk and walk from say 6am till 8pm if not do some hiking up mountains. Don't need to be physically fit...but cannot be physically weak.....lol

40-50km a day????? good for y'alls. i can only imagine myself from 5 up to 20km in an intensive day. to me, travel photography is about mood and joy, hence i dun really push myself to get good photos in difficult situations. i can dun take any pictures in the greatest settings if my mood is bad.

don't worry, we won't be having excessive travelling on foot for the trip.... ^^

But really, if u thinKing of losing weight....can try walking.

I lose around 9kg while i was in korea (studying + travel)
around 7kg while I was traveling in China
3kg in japan.

But in the end also the same put back the weight in Singapore. :bsmilie:

Becoz most of time i will be traveling solo so need to self entertain....therefore mood cannot be that bad.

But when the sky is grey.....my photography mood :thumbsd:

i dun mind walking. but i dun like rushing on walking. keeping to time limits are fine too, but non-photographers may have too different a concept of time as we do. i took a walk in wat pho in bangkok and 2hrs ain't enough for me. in fact, i walk a little too inside that i lost my way on return to the main gate (i would be on time if i didn't lose my way)

which is why extensive planning and research is required ^^

AFAIK, that applies if you use the beds... if you simply take the train without the beds it should be covered under JR pass.... though i have to do more research in this area to be absolutely sure...
