Looking for silver/black dual kit combo....Anyone know if stocks are still available?
Heard MSC no stock.....dunno if AP/HN/BD/CP still have them...

If you know pls post here....thinking of getting it today

Thanks

It's better to call them to check. Info from people here are not real time and you might end up disappointed by the time you reach the shop. :D BUY!

Hi all!

A proud new owner of my E-P1! Heavily poisoned by the thread and falling deeply in love with it now!

Thank you everyone for sharing their experience and thoughts.

May I ask if there are any m43 users out there using manual Nikon lens via adapter?

Any comments in terms of pic quality?

=)

A few outdoor pictures on the E-P1, post-processed by OlympusMaster 2.0.

This forest walk pic was accidentally set to ISO6400. I don't know when or how it got changed from auto but I will be more careful with those back dials. In the daytime and at this size, noise is not that visible.

That's one problem I find on this sexy cam. The dial at the back is a little too sensitive and easily pressed (accidentally). I have on many occassions found some menu (either ISO/WB) appearing because my fat fingers probably accidentally pressed the wheel.

anyone tried the Lumix G Vario 7-14mm with E-P1?

Hey guys, more new pix from my Oly Pen, this time from Botanic Gardens with my family. Skin tones are very natural and film like. I've been a long time Canon EOS user, but am glad to see Olympus doing great work with color rendition here.

hi there, is there a price guide for the kit lens?

Picture quality not very impressive leh

You should see:

weather is heavy overcast

You can tell from the photos too. Without good light, no matter which camera takes the photo, it will still be the same. :)

A cloudy white balance may do more justice.

err...some questions.

1. does the white body come with white 14-42 kit lens? or also black lens like the silver body?

2. the filter size of 40.5 seems uncommon. is there any shops that sells mc protector or uv filter for this size? will it impedde the lens when the lens cap is put on as i read the kit lens is kinda 'collapsible'?

Currently lenses are : pancake in silver, zooms in black. For both colored bodies.

(1) smaller filter sizes means cheaper filters for high end brands like b+w. (2) They are available. Thread sizes are common for consumer video cameras. (3) It works well and does not get in the way. All camera designers always take this into consideration in their design, so there is nothing to worry about. The usual problem instead is vignetting but not in the case of the E-P1 lenses. (so far). Unless you start stacking filters (ie, C-PL on top of UV filters, with ND filters in between).

Hope this answers your question.

Zoom lens is silver for the twin lens kit.

Thanks for the correction.
To be more specific... for the white camera body twin lens kit. That's what I got... don't know if it's so also for the black body twin lens kit or not.

Any idea if there is suppose to be a battery level indicator that we can turn on in the E-P1? Now it only tells us when the battery level is about to say goodbye.

On the black and silver one that I have opened (three sets), it was silver pancakes and black zooms.

Might be random though....

There are only three settings :

(1) Got juice
(2) Still have <<--- user setting
(3) You're screwed

And you can tweak your battery warning (as you probably already know) in case you don't fancy deep draining or be warned before hand that you are going to be "screwed". :bsmilie:
