Received a call from Olympus to check which kit set have I bought.

I guess they must be shocked to see the purchased price on my receipt (which I submitted to them to claim the extra battery).

Just went to TK. No stock ... Argh. Only single lens kits.

just some quick snaps in the cab on my way back after collecting my bicycle frame.

I got a call from a lady rep at olympus too, but she just asked which kit I bought. I guess like you said, to verify how much the retailers are selling their stuff :D

Probably to see which kit is more popular so that they'll bring in more of it.

Here are a few various higher iso pictures from E-P1, weather is heavy overcast.

Just two quick questions:

1. Which lens do you guys find generally better optically? The kit zoom or the pancake?

2. Any issues with the camera shutting down to cool after using the liveview for a long time shooting/movie recording?

I think a lot of places no stock, so now I'll just enjoy the pics and movies posted until new stock comes in :)

there's an ongoing olympus roadshow booth at IMM atrium...the sales guy mentioned that he has stock. retail price.

I have the pancake on most of the time. In fact, I realised that I went through 2 days without mounting the zoom ;p. The virgin shot from the zoom was taken by a colleague . Can't say if either one is superior to the other since one has the range and the other is a good 1.5 stops brighter (and smaller).

No heating issue so far and I did quite a bit of running around with it.

Olympus E-P1 AF is not as responsive as Nikon and Canon, especially so for the zoom lens.

Use digital magnification to assist in manual focus from the LCD.

Curious question, which Canon and Nikon are you referring to? I didn't know that anyone else has a similar product at this price range either. Sorry, I might have missed something.

Nice glass you have by the way.

Can I ask where you got the adapter from and how much? :)

I think this pic have a very good potential to look very good with the 'Pop Art' art filter ;)

The high ISO performance of the E-P1 is very very encouraging.

Anyone has any leads to what are the future m43 lens , Oly is going to release for the EP1 ? :) so far , the IQ and picture output from this camera has been really superb . Considering to use this as sub system. Hoping Oly will release more fast primes heh.

How much is it selling now for the dual lens kit? Browse through a few page but can't find.

They are preparing to release a road map for the micro Four Thirds platform, which also kinda baffles me that it has yet to see the light of day. Also wondering what is happening with the road map, which is quite unusual for the Four Thirds consortium not releasing since there are already three cameras under this platform that has been released. With the LX5 around the corner, this means 3 Panasonic bodies and 2 Olympus bodies by the end of the year (hopefully, without screw ups). And the road map for the lenses should be out pretty soon...

Currently there are these few lenses :

Panasonic :

7-14
14-45
45-200
14-140

Olympus :

17 pancake (prime)
14-42 compact zoom

Not sure what M Zuiko line up will be. Anticipating the new lenses on their roadmap.

You are probably better off calling the usual suspects and checking with them : Alan Photo, MS Color, TK photo, Parisilk, etc. They shouldn't have too much stock though I was surprised at IMM Road Show yesterday, they were selling dual lens kits still... hmmm...
