Has anyone tried the Zuiko 25mm with FT adaptor on the Pen yet? How's the AF?

Happy shooting!

Ian

AF of the ZD 25mm f/2.8 Pancake is actually quite snappy on the E-P1... comparable to the m43 lenses. Seems to be faster than the ZD 50mm f/2.0 Macro and the Leica D-Summilux 25mm f/1.4.

Test shot with the 25mm f/2.8 Pancake in low light at ISO 800:

Hi folks

Went through more paces with my Pen today and here's the second part of the review with more unedited photo samples on my blog

Excellent review and photos from the EP1. Thanks!

Should not have any problem getting 37mm filters in Singapore. I just got the 37mm Hoya HMC UV filter from Cathay Photo yesterday. Hoya HMC UV filters are ranked top compared to even much more expensive filters in this test comparison.

Thanks for this! The best filter comparison that I have ever seen! Hoya all the way for me now. No more expensive B&W. I used to have the feeling that I was getting better stuff by paying more...now we all know.

the test shows it block UV better than others, it also block visible light more, if this is also one of your concern.

Still B+W FTW!

Oil stain on the B+W? Spit and t-shirt would do the job.

Oil stain on the Hoya... well, spit and t-shirt makes the stain worse.

;p

The one I saw at MS Color has VIDEO printed on the filter. It is supposed to be SHMC from Hoya. Any difference? Anyway ... I kinda realise I probably don't need a filter with the 17mm as I don't think I'll get finger prints on the lens anyway (since it's kinda small).

Tried my old Olympus FL36-R flash on the E-P1, works OK. Flash zoom sync and TTL work fine.

Surprisingly there is such thing as 40mm filter for the E-P1.

That's because 37mm has typically been the filter thread for video camera lenses. Very few camera lenses need such small filter threads. Even range finder lenses are mostly 39mm up. I also have some 37mm filters from Sony which I had bought for my old Sony video camera. The Hoya SHMC should be the same whether for video or still photography.

It's 40.5 mm ;)

Thanks Tomcat! Will wait a while for bank account to go back up before I invest in another 4/3 lens. Am a longtime EOS user you see ;D

Just got the camera, any e-club member here would be kind enough to help me redeem the extra battery? ;p

btw, was happily snapping away at a bbq, using a voigtlander manual focus lens, managed to grab 570+raw shots before batt died...

Great shots!

Walked into Sim Lim on Saturday wanted to by a HD, 15min later, walked out with a silver E-P1 with 17/2.8, LOL :bsmilie: Nice camera, but still couldn't get used to the non-VF mode.

Haven't got enough time to play more with it as I'm preparing for my first newborn (which is even more exciting, sorry), and here's the expecting mother, taken with the 17/2.8 ;)

I've ordered the Elefoto M-mount adapter, would be interesting to see how this works out.

some pictures to share. just got my dual lens kit 2 days ago and played around. so much fun with such a much smaller camera, compared to my previous 40D. it's like totally new photography experience!
