They shouldn't have too much stock though I was surprised at IMM Road Show yesterday, they were selling dual lens kits still... hmmm...

Went to IMM during lunch. I didn't ask them how much stock they have but the one with 14-42 kit is selling at $1298 with 1 8GB card but without additional battery. Since most guys here bought it with the free battery, I decided not to buy and wait for other retail shop for their stock to come in.

i do believe the free batt is when you go join to be an E-Club member..

Ah ... I see. Thanks for the heads up. How does one sign up to the E-club? Online form?

Just check with another retailer, seems like the same 12-42 kit is much cheaper at $1218 but they are checking to see if there are stock.

I got a mailer from UOB yesterday; if you have the UOB One card you can also use that to pay and get a free battery.

3rd party or original? not that it matters much...
erm.. like that i think you can end up having 3 batts, cause still can go sign up to be a E-club member n get another free :)

How much is it selling now for the dual lens kit? Browse through a few page but can't find.

TK has the dual lens kit at $1505 cash, but they don't know when they'll get stock. I think the IMM roadshow is being held by Best Denki, which sells at RRP - $1598.

The 14-42mm and 17mm kits are not out of stock and could be bought a lot cheaper at other dealers if you pay cash. :)

If you shoot with an Four-Thirds macro lens eg the ZD 50mm f/2.0 Macro, ZD 35mm f/3.5 Macro, Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX, Sigma 150mm f/2.8 EX... then very good ! As good as with Olympus DSLRs ;)

Just want to share that I bought my E-P1 at Harvey Norman. I paid $1298 for the zoom kit, credit card installment and i got 2 x 8gig SD Card and 1 free original battery and screen protector. The nice salesman also gave me free lens cap string and UV filter :)

nice deal u got.

i got a cheap filter when i first got my set... it flared like crazy, every single light also flare... after 1 day cannot tahan, went to get a hoya... :(

Curious question, which Canon and Nikon are you referring to? I didn't know that anyone else has a similar product at this price range either. Sorry, I might have missed something.

Nice glass you have by the way.

Olympus E-P1 is a class of its own...

Hmm should I call it...."compact with interchangeable lens" or "dSLR without reflex mirror" or a "rangefinder without view finder"?

Cute, light and handy to carry around everyday, smaller than rangefinder. Ability to mount other interesting glasses.

Try using the AF at dim light..... compare the AF response to any half frame (non-pro Nikon or Canon) dSLR......you will agree with me. Each camera has its strength and weakness...

Having say that, E-P1 is a new class of its own. I only go for the 17/2.8 pancake with E-P1.

Thanks. I went to Parisilk at Holland instead. Got myself a pancake set.

Can someone share with me how should I go about redeeming the free battery? Thanks

Join e-club first, then ??

Im having the same problem. H/N gave me the SteinZeiser one, got flare when I shoot indoor lighting..bleah. Where did you get your hoya??

“It’s not a compact. It’s not an SLR. It’s a Pen.” :D

I was also thinking of just going for the pancake. Somehow I don't think the zoom is worth it. It will just make the addiction for primes even more intense though, heh.

Btw, the pricing for the pancake kit will be around...$1400?

Ah went to IMM earlier as well. The roadshow is run by Challenger, theres one teenager looking sales person there who attended me . Seems like he is well trained in the operation of the camera , and keep telling me its the latest model thats all

Subsequently , i tried out the zoom on the EP1 but apparently both of us didnt know how to collaspe the lens back . So the salesperson just left it on the booth lol. To end the episode , he recommend me to get the E series DSLR instead : REASON was ; can grip with 1 hand and shoot ... faint...

Think want to buy get from more pro stores instead ba , oh they still have pancake and zoom lens kit selling there. Bros interested can pay a visit
