Is Sigma 85mm F1.4 in the market yet?

According to DP review,it is available at US now, price:$1400USD.
Amazon priced it at US$899.

Tried this out already, awesome lens. Amazing quality, Sigma really did well with this one.
Seen it being sold at 3 places already, Alan, Orient, Paris Silk...
What I can't justify is the big mark up...S$1.4k plus...over our friends across the pond at U$899

thats singapore for you... as with the Sigma 50, prices are heavily marked up by the 'sole distributor' . screw it. im shopping elsewhere.. =P
i just went shopping today. didn't get the lenses i wanted, so tried out the Sigma 85/1.4 instead. heavy, big, well constructed. however, as with all other Sigma's, the AF is noticably slow. I'm used to L-lenses kind of focusing, so the Sig 85 really took damn long to focus on a object inside the shop. Using a Canon 85, focusing on the same object took just a split second. The Sig 85 was already hunting even at f1.4. However, the pictures are really good. subjects shot at f1.4 came out with a 'pop'. But at almost 3x the price of a Canon 85mm, i don't even need to think which lens to choose. For me, it wasn't worth that lind of price tag.

Perhaps you have not tried the focusing speed of the 85L.
i was lucky to had tried it before on a friend's camera. really slow. it focuses slower than some of the EFS small aperture lenses. Having said that, the picture quality from Sigma 85mm, 85L and 85/1.8 is different. for 85L, you are paying for top notch pic quality, but lose out on focusing. 85/1.8 reasonable pic quality but really fast focusing. Sigma 85mm is somewhere neither here nor there. Given the kind of pic quality, sad to say this lens cost 2.5x that of the 85/1.8. It is priced right in between both Canon lenses as the 85L cost 5x that of 85/1.8.
In my own opinion, if pic quality is given a scale of 1 to 10 with 85/1.8 being 1 and 85L being 10, then i would say Sigma 85mm is a 3.5. just doesn't appeal to me. In case you are wondering, i also regret buying the Sigma 50/1.4 for the same reason.

compare to singapore sell at $1.4k plus .... save about $250/+- lol

I did a quick and dirty review, I posted this on POTN forums where I'm a little more active:
Ok folks as promised, here are a couple of quick...very dry / boring samples. No worries though, you won't find shots of brick walls or text on paper. All these were shot on sRAW on 5dmkii, opened in LR3 and converted to jpeg. Nothing too academic here...
First shots of the my Canon 85 f1.8 vs the Sigma 85 f1.4. Just a simple shot of an Ixus mounted on a joby in the store, nothing special. No prizes for guessing where these were taken!

IMHO the Sigma totally smokes the Canon f1.8, sharpness is way better, contrast and saturation are better and the Sigma controls purple fringing better at f1.8. I used to be terrified using f1.8 on the Canon for all the nightmarish PP I'd have to do. I always shot the Canon at a maximum of f2.0, never at f1.8. That's a thing of the past with the Sigma.
Strangely the FOV on the Sigma is slightly larger than the Canon, also I was able to crank out a slightly fast shutter speed. Not sure why.
