I took the plunge and purchased the Sigma 85mm. I have no prior experience in any 85mm so i didn't know what to expect in a "good" 85mm lense.
The 1st set had some focusing issue whereby the lense keep hunting and the distance mark keep jerking left and right with a ciak ciak ciak sound.
I refer it to the salesman and they acknowledge that it was not an acceptable copy.
The 2nd copy was good.
Here are some of the pics taken in real world situation, in both day and night. It was paired with D90.
All pics posted are straight out of camera. No processing, no resize.
I can't remember the aperture used.
Twilight condition with lots of neon signboards. I focus on the boys. AWB i think.
In train. I place my cam on my lap and shoot. I dunno where is the focus point. AWB i think.
Overhead sun. Focus at the white hair man. White balance at daylight.

Night, with lots of neon signboards. AWB. Wide open and focus at the front taxi top white panel
My comments on this sigma 85:
Bokeh: You may look at the pics to draw your own conclusion. It is good to me though.
Focusing: Smooth
Accuracy: High keeper rate at f1.4
Sharpness at f1.4: My pics might not be conclusive to those who wants to compare sharpness at f1.4 but my experience is that it is very good and acceptable to me.
Color rendition: Good with a slight tint of warm
Color contrast: Good
Purple fringing: It is there but it doesn't get to the point that it irritates me
I love the smooth focusing, accuracy, color rendition and contrast.
For a price like this, I am keeping it unless there is another 85mm lense that can thrash this sigma hands down.
