Hi cHiLiPaDi,

I am not familiar with the IR ability of the Olympus 750z.
Others here are likely to be, but, since I am here....
Have you done the remote check ???
That is, face a remote control at the camera, press one of the buttons on the remote
Look to see if you can see light from the remote in the cameras LCD.
If so :vhappy: your camera should be good for IR.

I don't know what the lens thread for your adapter is (53mm ???)
anyway, I would get an R72 IR filter for that lens size.
You will see that there is some experimenting going on with different types
but I think the R72 is the better standard right now.

Hope this is of some help. I am sure you will be getting a flood of help from the others shortly.

Cheers :)

Hi ark19,

loupgarou: do you always move at near light speed :bsmilie:

Hi teerex,
Hi Vortex,
Hi Quekky,

Nice to SEE you guys

Seems like you guys are enjoying yourself despite the weather.
So when is the next one ???.

Chilipadi - what is the diameter size of the Oly adapter. Try the IR remote control test that Pablo has posted, may not be 100% but still a guide. If you're still unsure after that, then come along on our next outing and try the IR filters on you camera.

Dennis - Ya, despite the bad weather, our spirits were still up. Any suggestions where to shoot for next outing, then we'll plan earlier instead of last minute so more guys can make it.

Hi cHiLiPaDi....come join us for the next outing and try it out yourself. i think we've got more than enough filters to go around :)

i have a suggestion for next outing:

Demsey road
- lots of foilage
- abandoned buildings towards the back

the area is mostly art galleries and a couple of wine places.
dunno if it's good for shooting or not....but i do intend to go there anyways sometime soon.

or we could go cemetery

Demsey road ??. Near Botanic Garden ?.
I don't mind as long as can shoot. Can also go to SBG after that right.

Demsey Road sounds good. Can walk all the way in, may still have some of the old British Army barracks and buildings standing.

Like Dennis suggested, can go to SBG after that for those who still have the stamina and have not shot enough.

Set a date, 1 or 2 weeks from now so that more can make arrangements to be available.

Preferably o a Sunday, 0930hrs :bsmilie:

OK Lets start the ball rolling early. All other thing can be changed and updated as we go along. Mark your calendar. :)

Hi Chilipadi,

Why not you join us, or them in case I can't make it;p, for the next outing. They(we) have different filter, different size. We can also show you how to shoot. I am using Oly too. ;)

Hi Quekky,

Will bring the camera, next outing. No prob!

Teerex,

Hi cHiLiPaDi,

If you are using an Olympus CLA-4 adapter, the thread size is 55mm.

Hoya do make an R72 IR filter at 55mm and are not too expensive.
If you find one selling second hand and the price is right, have a look.
If not scratched it should be a good buy if 40% of new cost
