any chance of a fat lady streaking past a botero sculpture? that might make an interesting street shot...

Hi zaren,
1st rule of IR
No streaking fat ladies

They have a habbit of blocking the sun

Appologies to any weight inclined fairer sex out there with R72

(was I Politically Correct) :bsmilie:

Hosea, go for the larger diameter, 67mm. You can always use a step up ring for smaller diameter lenses.

Teerex and Ark,
Thanks...luckily I had not got the 62 mm.
Today weather quite good. now. u guys should have some good IR Shots.

Any good films to recomend for IR photography. Heard also that the film has to be changed using a black cover or a dark room to ensure the best quality.

When I was using HIE & EIR, I use a large changing bag for loading & unloading.

just got back. anyway, here are some tentative findings

---------

edmundoptics IR longpass filter doesnt' fully work, must use double layer to block out visible light,
cokin P series filter at 82mm with the sigma 12-24 will vignette, so must use the filter without the ring altogether, I'm going to have to find some way to mod. (ideallly I'll sell about the sigma 12-24 first then deal with the canon efs-10-22).
sigma 12-24 has no IR hot spots
canon 20D can shoot IR at approx 0.8 seconds at iso 100 ... (compared to nikon d70 which is IR sensitive), canon cameras anti alias filter are IR insensitive, so must require long exposure.

Those with the sigma 12-24, 15-30 might want to check out the following filter mods :

I am personally using the 77mm filter hood mod on the Sigma 15-30.

Well... not a good weather for IR....
The rest are here

Hi Ark19,

Thought it was going to rain when I saw the dark sky on our side. Not bad, got some nice ones. Actually, the gloomy sky kind of dramatise the shots.

Will try to make it next time.

Ark, you have some nice ones there. So it's worth it to carry the tripod.

I was too distracted with the wake boarding bit, don't have any to show. :embrass:

ok: these were taken only with single piece of the edmundoptics longpass, which is too thin, thus too much visible light, but effect kind of interesting too.

Kind of in between effect of a normal colour and slight IR. Interestingly different. So the edmundoptics is not ideal for the kind of IR effect like the R72. What about any shots with 2xedmundoptics stacked?

Nice meeting you too, pity didn't get the names of the other 2 guys that were there.

Ya though weather not that favourable at least you guys were able to get some shots.

We have to do it again this gloomy spate of bad weather clears.

How's the 360 pano?

2xedmundoptics was taken with quekky's cam I believe.
