Ark, this is a nice shot.. your composition is slick and good.
ur IR shots without "noise".
Thanks Hosea,
I think noises will be caused when the sunlight is insufficient. For this shots, it was very bright, thus I was able to shoot handheld and with minimum noise :D

Ark's camera is good man... but too bad its not a SLR cam... What you guys think of S3 pro? When is it coming? How much isit? Good for IR, like ark's?
Hi Acrylonithrill,
I used D70 for those shots :)
So far, I think that D70 is almost perfect for taking IR.
One thing that I don't get is this, even when you can't see anything through the viewfinder, D70 is able to autofocus.
Have not seen IR shots by S3 pro, but I'm very happy with D70, as i'm sure many of the D70 users in this thread are ;)

So is D70 worth to get? How cheap is it nowadays? What's the Lens mount? Nikon F or some "proprietors" mount...

yep...like the guys have mentioned....the weather wasnt really that good for IR today. here's some of mine which i thought was still ok...the rest cannot make it.

my take of the bridge, which quite a few of us took.

Thanks Teerex :)

Vortex, possible to increase brightness via "curves" looks abit dark to me.

Ark & Vortex
I am curious about the post process of your photo taken on the same day.
Just wonder why Vortex 's pix is much reddish where as Ark's pix is snowly.
Are u 2 using same cam and same type of IR filter?
Guess the post process is playing the trick and have a big role for color IR shots.

Ark19, I like your images' color more because its less saturated, more surreal.

Vortex, dude, your filter don't work for your camera lah, sell it to me ;) .
Ha ha, no lah, different effect good try eith this new filter actually. I also feel your images are a tad dark, push the curve alittle. Also saturation is strong, dude. lower it alittle.
Your filter seems to make strong colours and less the white or pastel colour foliage R72 filters creates, DIFFERENT! But nice!

Hi Hosea, we are both using D70, but I'm using R72 while Vortex is using Cokin filter P007. For my shots, i tend to adjust the hue to reduce the reds and yellows. Snowy effect can be done by adjusting Master hue to let the trees to reflect yellow. And a seperate Yellow adjustment to desaturate the yellows by increasing lightness. :)

Max, thanks for your compliments :)
What is the EXIF for "Cokin P007 on Olympus 5050 (processed)".
Colours looks good, but image has noise and is abit blur.
But think it's dur to the overcast weather. I'm sure results will be better on a sunny day

Some IR pics I took this morning...

Some may seem a bit soft. Due to handshake, cos' all taken handheld.

EXIF? Dunno leh. but Agree that image is not focus. Noise is bad because I used ISO400 and my in-camera saturation is pumped to the max.

New friend–Ademius? Very very nice IR images! What camera and lens are you using?

Hi Max 2.8! Not really new lah... I keep tabs on this thread cos' I enjoy infrared photography too! ;)

Just that, sometimes change diapers more often than take photos! :D

I shoot IR with my D70, kit lens and Hoya R72. Post processed in Photoshop CS. All critique and comments welcome.

Stadium? Went there today, took some shots before a guard came screaming at me, said this is private property and I need to sign in and also get management's approval to shoot.....sianz... anyways he didn't get me to erase the photos, maybe he needs to show he is doing his job....

Wonder when will the stadium be torn :(

So are we actually allowed to shoot in the Stadium?

sorry bro....can explain to me in layman terms how u do that? :dunno:

Pls PM me if necessary :D
im interested in getting other colours with my shots

ive been using some channel swap action i downloaded.

Spent the whole day today reformatting my hard disk. Don't know how,why computer full of spyware, crawling on internet connections, plenty of pop ups and applications crawling also. Finally got it up again.

Just one day, so many posts.

Panda, nice shot of the durians.

ark19, east coast pics very nice. I especially like the whites of the leaves and grass. Very good workflow, have to learn from you. You master of IR liao.

Adiemus, good to see you back with some shots. You using the R72 on the kit lens? When you going to have a day off from changing diapers so that we can all go for a shoot after vortex gets his Ilford SFX and ark19 get his longpass filter.

I managed to get a few ok shots at Chinese Garden but think I better not post with so many nice shots from you guys.

Max, you still want to try with the 5050, don't want to try with the 20D?

No lah, the exposure is too long. I dun have fast lens also. Also my filter is small 49mm now.
