 2 weeks before stocks arrive :(

I took this pic today with my 20D/EF 50mm 1.8. @ 5sec F16 ISO400.
Though I set my white ballance to a leaf on one of the trees,
I get nothing like the colour if I had used my Fuji s602 :dunno:

The photo has been Auto'd, but no chanel swap so far.
Do you have any thoughts. Eg.
The difference of CCD.
The difference of lens.
All the above

Thanks in advance.

I would have thought that the right way to do CWB is to point the camera with the R72 filter on at something white like the clouds in the sky to tell the camera that the pink/red colour cast it is now seeing should be white and to adjust accordingly. By pointing at at something green like in the leaves, it would be telling the camera that the red-green mix is white and would result in the wrong CWB.
:dunno:

Hi Pablo,
perhaps you can do a channel swap, adjust Hue and adjust Curves and see the results?

Hi Pablo,
Think Ark is quite right.. I tried doing the swap and it looks like below.
Hope you dont mind I do an experiment on your pix.. will take it out after your view.

Hi ark19,
I had tried the channel swap, but was still not happy, as the picture taken appears to have maybe a yellow cast to it.
Like as if someone took the original file on the card and applied a yellow to it,
before I put it into the computer.
I am not too up there with PS and as such don't know how to remove 1 colour from an entire photo.
I imagine if I had taken it RAW it would not have this problem.

Thanks

Hi Hosea,
Sorry, I was writing to ark19 whilst you were posting.
Happy that you play with the photo.
As you now see with the CH swapped version, it now has a blue influence.
The leaves can not go to white.
With the Fuji I had more control over the resulting photo and could get much whiter leaves whitout throwing too much else out.
:dunno: :dunno:
Thanks for your reply

Hi Pablo,
I notice that the clouds look very "angry".
Was the photo taken in an overcast or pre-rain condition?
Sometimes, the intensity of the sunlight will affect the IR results.

If you don't mind, can I dl ur photo and do some PS when I'm home tonight?

Hi ark19,
Yes it was a bad day sky wise, I was waiting for gaps of sunlight.
My fault that I didn't think to take the Fuji s607 out with me too for comparison.
I don't know of a way to give you the original file, >3meg.
If you simply want to download what I put in the gallery, feel free

Hi teerex,
Yes, I got that too here when I tried. Too blue .... Maybe I have become too fussy, after seeing your posted works :dunno:

Hi ark19,
here is a link to the original in PBase (1 day left in trial account...forgot about it being there).
I was trying it out (PBase) but hadn't decided on it.... any way.

No, you're not too fussy. I like hard to please customers, challenging.
How about this?

Hi teerex,
I think I am too fussy. So I will go out with my s607 and give that a go.
Oooopsss, it is night time. Surfing the net too long :bsmilie:

I have another day off tomorrow. With luck it won't be bad like today.
I was anxious to try the the EF50mm 1.8 with the IR filter.
I had bought one for the 18-55mm lens that came with the camera only to find,
the lens gives a hot spot.
I may not be getting better, but I am getting a good collection of IR filters :bsmilie:

Thanks for being one that likes a challenge, I will see if I can get you a better one.
