Does the EP-2 utilise the AF assist beam on the external mounted flashes now?

If the EP-2 supported wireless flash that would be fantastic! Would be a really small strobist kit!

I don't think it supports wireless flash since there is no built in flash as well as not being stated in specs as far as i know

it would seem that Olympus really did, good job,now if they would just release a firmware for E-P1 (if it can be solved by firmware),nice pics of your cat,the first one looks friendly but the second doesn't,I don't know if I should be afraid or not
They are just snapshots... not beauty shots as I only want to test the flash on the E-P2. I suspected that the flash would perform better on the E-P2 and it was indeed so. I got a special price for the flash anyway.

The second cat is actually the more friendly one as she is not afraid of strangers and will come to them to check them out. You will not see the first cat if you are a stranger as she would immediately go into hiding the moment someone she don't know come into the house. :)

still... they look nice,is that so?how interesting,I have absolutely no idea how to handle cats,so can't really comment so much on their behavior XD

Where did you get it from?Do you happen to have a broucher that says so?I don't have anything on a promo price for the flash with E-P2

There should be. Cathay Photo was trying so hard for me to buy the FL14 flash at $99, but I really didn't need it. Maybe ask MS Color why Cathay has the promo and they don't (if you really want the flash).

However, MS Color is $40 cheaper for the E-P2 kit than Cathay.

I got the e-quote from the boss of amk main branch.. i tested the staff there to see i had a discount, they quoted me 1599 l0ls.. anywayFL-14 is out of stock at MS color, and i tink they dun have the $99 promo.. if not i bought alr

Got my silver E-P2 with the Lumix 7-14mm.

The VF-2 wasn't included since I got the set in Japan.

It's a "little" more expensive than Singapore but I'm happy with it.

The $99 flash promo is by Olympus to celebrate their 90th Anniversary. Valid for the month of December for purchases of E-P2. MS Colour should honour it even if they don't have stock on hand. They can always order it from Olympus Singapore and let you collect it later. If your relationship with your dealer is good, you can get it for even less than that. I did. ;)

Did you remember to collect your free 8Gb mSD card? Even my dealer did not remember that there is such a promotion because the info was not very obvious in the dealers' flyer from Olympus until I pointed it out to him. He didn't give the 8Gb card to some customers who didn't ask for it.

Hi all, I am hoping to purchase an E-P2 sometime soon and does anyone happen to know if the Panny FL220 flash will work on the E-P2?

if its an four thirds accessory,no reason why it should work

Also got to play with the latest digital camera on the block... the Ricoh GXR. The 920,000-dot 3" High Defination LCD screen is really impressive. The only lens currently available is the 50mm f/2.5 macro that comes with a APS-C CMOS sensor. 50mm is actually the equivalent focal length for a 35mm format camera which means that the actual focal length of the lens is 33mm. I would think that taking a close-up portrait with this lens would produce more perspective distortion with an actual 50mm lens.

I felt that the AF speed is not very fast... about the same as the E-P1/E-P2. Although it is a macro lens, you must press a 'Macro' button just like with a PNS camera to shoot in macro.

Is it real that the AF of EP2 is same as Ricoh?
I tried the Ricoh.....Extremely slow for Micro

I bought mine @ AP, Flash FL-14 @ $99, with MMF-1 @ purchase with purchase price... all about S$1900

I got mine yday at MSC, black body with pancake lens and also brought the FL14 flash.

Cheers

Hi,

For the folks who have purchased the E-P2 and the FL-14 flash, can I ask if the FL-14 flash still over-expose the shot?

The FL-14 and the E-P1 has a problem of over-exposure that I have to dial down the flash exposure, hope they have fixed this with the E-P2.

Thanks in advance!

Haha... obviously not! Oops... thanks!

Alright, now, what can we E-P1 suckers who bought the expensive FL-14 do now? Let Olympus laugh at us for being the guinea pig? I think it is fair to say a firmware upgrade should be coming, no?
