I guess its reserved cuz i called at 1pm.. sigh if dun have den bo pian lor i take 17mm kit

You pay almost 1.5k for a camera and you compromise and settle for lesser? (although I think the 17mm is better than the zoom lens)

Wahse… how to compare ep-2 just hit the shelves leh…
looking at the reservation list at all places it should be out of stock
pretty soon.

I have to agree that GF1 out of stock pretty fast too.
In fact the reason I reserved the ep2 is cause the stocks for gf1 and ep2 suppose to come in abt the same time
so I just reserved the latest product.

Cheers

Looking at history of LX3 & GF1, seems like Panny underestimated demand. Or they deliberately want to built up demand.

They should learn from Apple...
1. Announce & ship tons of stock at the same time
2. ???
3. Profit!

MS colour are selling the same price for both kit lens bundle. Anyway I would be selling off the kit lens to get a better one. You have any idea which one has more value when reselling?

At the moment, no such thing as running out because of reservation ... I did not reserve any and I am able to buy it at MS or Cathay (I already have it). It arrives tonight or tomorrow at Alan Photo, Song Bros., etc.

Cathay has both kit lens ($1600), none for body only, and flash is $99.

Anyway, happy days are here, I am finally able to use my manual focus lenses with more efficiency, can sell some of my AF ones already :bsmilie:, I just love great mf lenses.

I got the one with the zoom lens. No need to sell it, IMHO, it's a good lens to use once in a while.

I think the pancake is more expensive especially if it comes with the viewfinder. But I think I would get the zoom lens because it's black in colour to match the camera's colour. The pancake is only silver I believe. In any case I just bought the 20mm so I'm covered.:D
:D

Care to give a brief review on the 20mm ? maybe a sample pic? haha anyway u paired it with EP-1 ?

Just collected my E-P2 Zoom kit plus Flash from Parisilk at a really good price.
Remember to ask for the free 8G mSD card. Got mine changed to a normal 8G SDHC card FOC instead.

Also got to play with the latest digital camera on the block... the Ricoh GXR. The 920,000-dot 3" High Defination LCD screen is really impressive. The only lens currently available is the 50mm f/2.5 macro that comes with a APS-C CMOS sensor. 50mm is actually the equivalent focal length for a 35mm format camera which means that the actual focal length of the lens is 33mm. I would think that taking a close-up portrait with this lens would produce more perspective distortion with an actual 50mm lens.

I felt that the AF speed is not very fast... about the same as the E-P1/E-P2. Although it is a macro lens, you must press a 'Macro' button just like with a PNS camera to shoot in macro.

It is not on sale yet... only available next Tuesday at about $1.3K+ before GST. So fast E-P2 (and GF1) got competition already. :)

thanks uncle tomcat! Would be interesting to see how the Ricoh GXR fares against in E-P1 and E-P2 as well as GF1 in terms of sales

Just tested the FL-14 on the E-P2 and found an unknown improvement the E-P2 has over the E-P1... an improvement that Olympus does not want to publicise for obvious reasons. ;)

The FL-14 does not over-expose at all even up close. It was totally different when I first tested the FL-14 on the E-P1. It seems that Olympus has quietly correct the problem for the E-P2 and now the flash is really TTL.

Let me be the first to post a couple of images from the E-P2. These are a couple of flash test shots taken with the zoom kit lens. Pity my cat 'models' who had to be 'tortured' with the flash close-up so that I could test the flash on the E-P2. :(

wa zhun anot no more over exposure from flash

it would seem that Olympus really did, good job,now if they would just release a firmware for E-P1 (if it can be solved by firmware),nice pics of your cat,the first one looks friendly but the second doesn't,I don't know if I should be afraid or not

Errr.... weird leh, today i went to Cathay, they said EP2 not arrived yet, they havent sold any unit yet, can someone verify? :what::what:

Maybe stocks come already but haven't arrange and do other stuff,so they just say haven't arrive,so a bit hard to verify

Which Cathay ? I got mine from Cathay Peninsula. And I saw some other guys testing with their manual lenses, and bought them anyway. Once tested, sure buy, no other RF look m4/3 digital camera with super EVF for manual focusing :bsmilie:, a monopoly at the moment.
