the pricing really sucks. hopefully it depresses everything else.

The prices are SRP, not street prices. Check with your fav retailers and I believe you will be getting a good price.

I've just walked to Courts yesterday and asked about the EP2. The sales guy says they are not bringing it in and I was surprised. Guess they still have a lot of EP1 with pancake left selling at $1499.

anyone knows what is the street price yet?

will retailers get their stock by this week?

how much is the FL-20? been thinking of getting the EP2 so need to think of how much is the whole system between committing? Thanks. :)

Hi I was rushing to buy a flash for E-Pen1 and go away on tour. The FL-36R ran out of stock hence no choice get a FL-20. It costed me S$160. For guide no. it may be stronger than FL-14 but it is still a fix head flash gun. Direct exposure for near distance usually over-exposed. The only advantage is it is light weight.

I am looking for FL-36R next month when I get my 13th month pay.

When you use the FL-20, and in near distance it over exposes, the question is, what was your ISO setting?

saw the E-p2 full ads on straits time....
call the whole island....
no shops seems to stock them...
what's the catch ?

"Intelligent marketing"? :sweatsm:

I wonder if the EVF on the EP-2 uses the same connector as on the GF1 : p

Building up the anticipation. But the price really put me off. Oh well, I guess it thrives on the hype.

i think a lot of shops overstocked on the EP-1 when a lot of people wanted GF-1 instead and now EP-2 is out. If I am the shop owner I would be cursing as no one will buy the EP-1 given the local mentality of buying the 'latest' and most 'advanced' model.

'Latest' does not mean most 'Advanced' in the digital world as we have learnt in computers. When Intel comes out with a 2X faster processor, they cut the bandwidth by half too!

actually almost same price with GF1, in fact its pancake kit is much cheaper. u also get a much better EVF with it

E-P2 14-42mm Lens Kit @ S$1,698.00
GF1 14-45mm lens kit ($1,299) + LVF1 ($345) = $1,644

E-P2 17mm Pancake Kit @ S$1,698.00
GF1 20mm pancake kit ($1,499) + LVF1 ($345) = $1,844

Is there a white EP2 version for sale? I remember receiving a brochure from Olympus, and if i'm not wrong that i can have an EP1 + both the lenses at 1.5k. I'll check back when i get home to confirm

I find that the only main difference is the electronic view finder & the new art filters. The electronic viewfinder is handy when you are taking picture in bright sunlight, where by the screen may be a little hard to see.

I wonder what will the dual lens bundle for the EP2 be like?

Update:

I managed to find the link to the brochure, seems more worth it to get an EP1,

E-P2 is black, only in Japan is silver

call a shop in JB, the boss said that the E-P2 will be "featured" at this coming JB PC show (Persada Intl Conv Ctr),
and the shops will only get their "limited" stocks right after the PC show's ended.....

MS Color Update :

Contacted MS Color for their estimate when the E-P2 will arrive at their shop, and the reply was between 17th to 20th December.

No mention on stock availability, how many pieces or in what configurations (single zoom, pancake or dual lens kit). So for those who want to place a pre-order to confirm your piece, you might want to send them an email, and place a pre order.

I cannot do much this time since I will not be in Singapore to help sort out these things so contact your retailers if they can get the E-P2 sooner.

It's alright, i guess, some of us can wait. Anyway, thanks for the great help! Appreciate it.

If you're wondering, the E-P2's EVF will NOT work with the GF1.

My pals at CNET already tried.
