Hmm yep. Thanks for the infor. That's why I was looking for grey lens cos it makes no difference if I bring a Hk warranty one back to Singapore. I will prob head to mong kok to search for the shops mentioned.

Anyway, for the previous post, why is that required to go to the Sony centre? Is it to register the warranty? But that step is only for international warranty ones right?

Hi does anyone know how much cheaper are Benro carbon fibre tripods in HK as compared to Sg? eg. C-0698 EX/M8

Which shop in HK carries a good range of Benro tripods? Thanks!!

scroll back a few page. i posted the Benro distributor/service center in Sham Sui Po. I believe their price should be more competitive then those shops on this thread since i got a pretty good deal for my martin strap from them. But no guarantee if they charge lower.

Yes. the set is HK local warranty. If i bring the receipt, and the set to the sony centre, the guy at the service center will giv me another card, so that i got the Tourist Limited Warranty. Then with that, can i send in to wisma atria in SG for warranty claims if anything happen ~

Hmm u mean I can convert the Hk local warranty to international one? One year to one year? Does that apply to lens made after 1 October?

err... which brand u talking about le? i was talking about sony products only. i think canon and nikon got different scheme...

Sony one is 1 year HK warranty exchange to 1 year Tourist limisted Warranty (which u can apply in sg)

Cool, thanks all, I will go buy it today. :)

Sorry guys,

Have you guys heard of www.fotogearhk.com?

They are located at 九龍深水埗長沙灣道 266號昌發大廈302室
302 Chong Fat Bldg 266 Cheung Sha Wan Rd
KLN Hong Kong

Are they reputable? Found their pricelist for tripod combo set (with photoclam) in the internet and they seems interesting. If they are reputable, I will pay them a visit. If not, I would rather give it a miss.

Thanks.

HI CS Tan,

Thanks for the great guide, will be heading to Beijing in Dec for work, might stop over in HK for a day. Is there any offer for Pocket Wizards miniTT1 and FlexTT5 like what Cathay Photo is offering?? Buy 1 and get the rest @ a special price?

Where is the best place and price to buy Pocket Wizard and Sekonic Meter - looking for 758Cine.

Sorry to ask you for a price check but I have very limited time in HK and I hope to compare prices to those in WuKeSong in Beijing.

The last time I go HK was 10 years ago, I missed HK..lol..

Hi, anyone dealt with "big camera co" in sin city along mong kong area?

Hi guys,

During my last trip to hong kong in July this year, I had been looking for this brand "PHOTTIX" of battery grip and batteries. I had been to those major stores mention in the thread, but none of them carry "phottix"

As i will be traveling to hong kong in December, may I request for advise from CSers if you happen to know of any stores in Hong kong which sell this particular brand "phottix" or any other reliable third party battery grip for canon 550D.
Will be planning to get a new external flash and UWA lens as well.

Reasons for not getting the original battery grip + batteries in singapore are it does not come with local warranty and the price is double the price of third party brand.

Pleae advise
thank you so much

Not yet available in HK. Japan launch is at the end of the month so I would expect HK will be getting them right after Japan.

Keep an eye on this link for price update: http://www.price.com.hk/product.php?p=120677

Tks CS TAN agn n agn.

Will be there whole of next week and really hope I can get it there.

I run through HK map and still very unsure cos 1st time there but I 'plotted' out all the camera shops.

Will be staying in Metropark Mongkok, 22 Lai Chi Kok Road. So which shop will be the nearest (walking) cos I am thinking to get lenses and spent the rest of the trip for my family.

Heard good stuffs about Echo but seems like its further down and dun think I can make it as my 1st camera shop. Will visit them on my last day in HK and spent my remaining HK$ (if I left with any). xlolx.
