I have been in HCMC a few times. Never knew that there was an Indian Temple here.
In fact, I am here now and some of the scenes do look familar.

Cat with left ear cut, came back to Singapore already?

i'm back in singapore right now.

but that was a roll that i stored for too long..... until my film slr battery run out.

then i don't know what i did, the whole thing wound itself up... so wasted 10 exposures (26 out of 36 frames shot)..

kept until now to develop because developing in london + scan to cd = 10 pounds.

I have been to HCM since 1993 and this was frist time I took pics.

If you know New World Hotel which is in D1, on the side is the park and the other side is a petrol station, the temple is a lane or two from the station.

I managed to get hold of a nice looking Pentax ME Super recently.

Cosmetically, it's still in pretty good condition. I poped in the batteries yesterday and a roll of Kodak Gold 200 just for testing.... haven't finished shooting the whole rolls though.

However, when set to AUTO or M mode, the metering will forever indicate overexposed (red lights on OVER), even when I set to F22, 1/1000 which should be extremely UNDERexposed. But the red light indicator is still on OVER. Otherwise, the other camera mechanisms are still working well.

Any gurus here know what's wrong with the metering? and is it difficult/expensive to fix?

Maybe it's the metering.
Can contact Camera Hospital for repair esitmate.
If repair cost high, I am selling my ME Super SE and you can swap the metering or keep mine.:bsmilie:

Nice series of the Viet photos there Ben, u would have 'complete me' if you've taken shots of the rice vermicelli, phor, rice roll and the coffee filter. :bsmilie: I've a sudden craving for those.

You must have fond memories of VN.
Can find rice vermicelli, phor, rice roll and the coffee filter in Joo Chiat, but don't side track.:bsmilie:

Went to the Mandai Orchid the second time to test the cam.

The first time I was there was in 2009. They thought I was part of wedding reception guest. So no entry charge. However, I thought it was free entry. This time round, I was asked to fork out S$3.50 Later I learnt from another Pentaxian who went there recently paid S$1.50 as he was identified as a photographer. So, any photographer who want to pay less, perhaps inform the counter you are not a tourist, but a photographer. Good Luck.

So much for the short intro.

Hi Ben, nice series of the orchid there, what time u took those orchid?
I'm very scared of going Haw Par Villa, don't understand why they want to inflict such fear onto children like me haha.. They should change the name to House on Haunted Hill or Resident Evil, then i will go...

Some random photos with my Spotmatic F, Fuji Superia 800
I just wanted to waste them, been keeping them for 3 months plus already.

It was 4.30pm and the sun was strong and of course HOT.
Best time is still morning where the insect kingdom is more active.

Big boy shouldn't be afraid of Haw Par, maybe change to the name to Stairway to Heaven.:bsmilie:

BTW, I sold my SMC Tak 50/1.4 even before I use it. Anyway, I am letting go A50/1.4, M50/1.4, M50/1.7 soon...
