Group Exhibition for MF and LF users on CS?

Ok here's the deal:

I will open this invitation till 31 July, either that, or we get a maximum of 20 participants. After that, I will finalize the list and source for venue sponsor.

Once I have the final list of participants, I will proceed to collect $50 from each of you via bank transfer. This money will be used for the following:

1. Venue rent (if necessary)
2. Marketing collateral (posters, post cards etc)
3. Food and drinks for launch of exhibition
4. Stationary (tape etc)
5. Printing of artist bio as well as artist statement.
6. If there is excess of budget, I suggest we simply donate to a charity.

Based on fei's offer to sponsor venue, my estimated timeline is such:

Deadline for invitation: 31 July
Scan/Print/Frame: Month of August
Sourcing of other sponsors: Month of August
Publicity: 1st and 2nd week of September
Exhibition setup: 1st and 2nd week of September
Exhibition: 3rd and 4th week of September

For those who have already opted into this group exhibition, this is what I need from you:

1. Artist bio (250 words max)
2. Equipment used (camera, lens, film)
3. A quote explanation on why you love MF/LF and what you hope to achieve with through this exhibition. (Max 100 words)

Don't forget the ultimate objective of this exhibition is to spread the love about medium and large format photography in Singapore. So you can try to write something in that aspect.

Next step: I will have a private discussion with Fei about venue.

In the mean time, do invite people you know who would like to participate. Like I mentioned, first 20 participants only.

What size of prints are we looking at? Also would you consider mf digital for this?

Digital MF = Yes.

As for size of print, please make it at least A3 size, or 20x16 and bigger. The print must not be bigger than 1 meter on the longest side. I hope that's fair enough.

So yeah, you definitely need a good scan of the negs.

What IF, I cant find a good enough image for this series, will I have the option to back out / find a replacement person/ etc?

I have some questions on LF presentation.

KGSTON done me an excellent preview. BUT... the jpg file is over 180MB. The TIFF file is over ... 1G!. (thank you Sir)

How to present LF colour prints? It will be a problem.

I have no issues with 6X6 to 6X9.
Fotohub cannot handle above 612.

The only out put for LF should be scan and print digital, but since Kgston's 4x5 is decommissioned, our only luck is either Fotohub (no idea what they scan with but $30 per scan) or A Epson V700, any v700 users comment on the output? If its succificient to print big?

We can of course do darkroom prints for b&w but largest feasible size might be 11x14? Limited by enlarger and availability of paper

I'm using the V700 but I can honestly say that the color output will not be as good.

That said, it's also a matter of technique. This guy produced freaking amazing results.

I've tentatively chosen the venue already. That's Good Poison at Milenia Walk. Some of you already know the owner (Fei) pretty well by now.

Showcase duration - tentatively 2nd/3rd week of Sept.

anyway is there any meet up for advise on printing and what we are going to do....this is my first time and my mf pic is limited cause i seldom use it.
