P.S. shot on my G7....
My only stopper to rush and get this camera is no 28mm.
Why cant Canon give us a wider angle...

What is the main significant different between G7 and G9?

Hi bro airfins,
any problem with the power adaptor? is there using samepower voltage? how abt the warranty? is the warranty international? i saw few shop from tokyo offering 3 years warranty. any problem bring back 1 unit back from japan?
Power adaptor is 120~240v so no problem, manul come inmulti language too. Warrenty is 1 year from Canon Japan lah if you pay like S$30 more you get extra 4 years in house warrenty from Big Camera. If you mean the custom here, should not be a problem lah I used it and put the box in my cargo bag anyway its for personal use.

Actually ever since bro Rico had raised the question of the wrist strap for G9, I was about to close a deal to bring in a strap for my own G9. Fast forward and now he and I both had on our hands a pretty good and solid hand strap. FYI people.

what wrist strap are you guys using for Canon G9? I find the neck strap pretty cumbersome.

I've been trying to search for a good strap online but haven't come across any that's sold seperately. How much does this strap cost? I think quite a number of us are looking for something like that.. MO? ;)

hi all, i js bought my new G9 in taiwan few days ago..er.. is there any nessecary ways to main my G9.for example is a dry box nessecary?last time own a old canon 88 slr,and had a dry box for it..
but long time nv touched photgraphy and wanna start going in to it again... =P new to digital photography, hmm G9 isnt a true SLR and the lens cant realli be changed.so will there still be a problem of dust internally?

I just use an old Ixus strap. If no attachment on the G9, the strap will do just fine.

Hi bro Kim. Congrats on your G9! Hope you will enjoy as much as I do. I suppose you will need a dry-box to maintain your camera to keep it away from humidity. And I do not think we will face any dust issues as we have no need for us to change lens and expose our sensor to any dust or anything like that... ;) Regards.

Sorry for the late reply bro coalfox.

Well, here's a bit of info pertaining the strap. The company's name is ProStrap:

http://www.prostrap.com/

They have a few models, the Deluxe Loop Strap which cost US$14.99:

As well as the Economy Loop Strap which cost US$9.99:

And the shipping cost US$19.95.

Cheers and regards.

Wow, Thanks! that is very helpful & what i am thinking now too.. Video & photography, can't have the best of both world without compromise.

So far how is the G9? Good. I think it has one of the best specs around for its range with accessories enable.. With external flash & lens. Are they expensive? Would like a 10x zooms cabaility with macro close up occassionally.. Only the G9 is able to do that compare to the other like F50fd, P5100..

Any problems u met while using the G9?? The battery spec is a little with only 240shots, is it true??

I be using camera once a blue moon when there is family activity/tour/exhibitions.. Thats also hesitate me buying a DSLR.

Thanks for your help!!!

The below pics are the setup of my really small "dry box", if it ever qualify as one at all...

I made use of my previously typical camera box, with the assistance of not just the normal silica gels but also this nice product which is like "Thirsty-Hippo" except it's in satchel-sized, bought from Mustafa for $6.20 for 5 satchels.

make sure the RH maintain at 45-55%, if its too low it will damage the rubber parts and dried up the lubricating oil of the moving parts.

Oh. Is it? So cheap liao.. I was quoted a $790 from my friend who is canon staff @ 2 weeks ago.. Outside cheaper than insiders...

I quite like John3:16, hear that every sunday too.. Thats all together different.. Hee...

:>

Thanks!!

Thats why cannot tahan got to part with my mola  now got to save up more mola for the Inon strobe setup :sweat:

Yes, U can only get the camera w/o the housing at the price in SGP!
Get the Inon strobe, it's pretty user friendly to use on manual modes, I'm using the D2000.
Its a pity the Canon housing lens port is oval shape, cannot use external macro or WA lens. Old ones used to be round & lens could be mounted with an adapter.
