Fujifilm s5700

Good stuff about the S6500 are heavier for those who are used to handling SLR and manual forcus.

Good stuff about the S5700 are protruded camera housing at the lens to prevent contact with the lens when performing zoom. Affordable price with 10x zoom and basic prosumer controls. Cons is only 4sec shutter speed. Really not a cam for nightshooter who favours tweaking shutter for maximum exposure duration, light trails manipulation and the like.

I was 'baited' into buying the S5700 at an initial quoted price of 660!
And bought it at that price, I did... RAWRRRRR:sticktong



May I know where do the rest of you get your S5700s from?

Mine was from some Square Corner at Level One in Sim Lim Square, near/ opposite the elevators.

seems like most ppl haf bad experience in SLS.. I was conned too... bought the new model though... S5800 with free 2gb + case @ $670... + extra 2gb memory + LCD protector + UV filter + wide angle AF lens + rechargeable batt = $1124!! from Bally Photo..

haiz, almost got this camera yesterday night. Contacted one forumner here to deal for his S5700 at AMK. Went all the way down from Boon Lay to meet him. Met him there, duno whether real or not, say his friend wants the camera and ask me whether i can up my offer.

Then say his friend coming, i already saw the friend already with the camera bag who kept looking at us, but the seller tried to call him then his friend walked away and off his handphone. Then seller said he also damn angry with the friend for taking away the camera. So lan lan lor, waste my petrol and time to travel all the way down there and chut this kind of pattern.

Sorry for my rant here....anyway where can i get a brand new S5700 cheap? i am just looking for the Camera alone..called MS Color and was told this model was already discontinued.

try other shops like cathay photo, alan photo and south asia computer (@ funan). or even havey norman. if not, u may have to settle for S5800. this cam is the same as S5700 except for the 1mp more difference.

If can, go back to the shop and raise hell, or go to CASE and complaint. Cam only cost RRP at $399.

oh no, I hope U really did NOT get it fm SLS. I stay away from that place for cameras. It's easier to get knocked down by a bus IN SLS than find and HONEST camera dealer

under warranty Fuji has the obligation to calibrate the lens to sharpness, guess they are the only person in town with the right equipment

Did you sent the camera to them for focus calibration? Then they must have already calibrated it for you. Do you mind share some of the "out of focus" photos here?

haha, no lah. S5700 producers vibrant colours and the s/w is pretty good, most of the shots were taken using Natural light.

i think this model has been discontinued. S5800 is the latest one. (though it is also an old model.) if u dun mind 2nd hand, perhaps u can still S5700 in the marketplace here. if not, u will have to settle for S5800.

Do take note of the pros and cons of this camera. Hope u can join this small family soon.

How much is S5800 going for? Wanting to get my very first cam but on a tight budget ne~ I am actually attracted to S5700 by its value and after going through the photos on this thread even more wanted to get >-<
