these 2 pics got many "noises" despite flash is fired.

They were shot with Natural + flash @ ISO 800. I noticed S5700 is good up to ISO400, tends to get noisy beyond that

Here's a few that I shot, ISO 400 with Flash. Much beta

Nope, no red-eye reduction was deployed through out the whole show; modes used were either Portriat or Nautral light + Flash

Somehow I didn't get the red eye problem ;)

it's a decent camera for <$399, just that I find the cam kinda small to hold; more as a handy travel camera and good for those with small hands or ladies;)

Con is noisy >ISO400.

I still prefer S6500fd feel. more Man-ly;)

i agree on all of ur points except the one u say this camera may suit ladies. no offence. ;) cos i think most ladies prefer those so called "card size" cameras. S5700 though is small, to ladies, it is still very "big" for them.

if fuji can come out with a s6500fd & s5700 hybrid, that would be the best. :D

OT a bit...anyone knows where i can still find s6500fd? if really can't find it then i'll settle for s5700 or s5800 already..

if u want 1st hand one, shld be quite hard to get it now cos fuji has discontinued its production of s6500fd.

if u can settle for 2nd hand one, u can try the mktplace here or any other forums mktplace. also not to forget ebay.

:)

hahaha, let me clarify, the ladies that tried preferred the S5700 to the S6500 (they found it too bulky).

Also notice the brochure of S5700, it's a lady holding it and it sits nicely in her hands;)

Anyway, I came from old school film / slide photography. I prefer to frame and compose the pix while shooting rather than do PP;)

S6500fd is a great prosumer, the S5700 would be a great starter & entry level cam. Both has it's quirks not being a DSLR but hey once you learn to work within the limits, they R GREAT:)

Got one 2 weeks ago from Harvey Norman Funan..;)

wow! now still get it ah? how much u paid for the ss6500fd?
$599 c/w Bagman bag, mini tripod, SD card (which i've already complained to them and will change to XD today)

i do agree that the camera is pretty light weight and sits nicely on my hands as compared to 6500 however, i realise that 6500 seem to be more capable of producing better images and would do better in micro pictures - which i love to do.

QUESTION:// under aperture setting; super-micro mode, a slight move causes a blur-y picture or is it because it's 5700? i ended up using mini tripod instead of my usual free hand style.

under low-light settings, any cam will cause a blur image if any slight movement is made. This is for any cam, not necessarily the 5700.
