Street price is $1500/- Filter size is 49mm. It has a front adapter ring that needs to be unscrewed and be replaced by a filter if you wish

where did you get the $1500 figure from??

1.5 or 1.6 K don't really make much different if the stock is low. Most will disappear soon.

i saw a tourist using X100 at cityhall taking photo at the fire station last sun.... confirm plus chop is X100..he look like japanese..

i did not approach him anyway.. but dam cool when he use it!!

"Dear All, official SRP in Singapore is S$1699nett and it will be launched on 12th Mar. Interested buyers pls PM your name and contact no, we will update once stocks ready to sell. Thank you! ^^" - Orient Photo fb page.

Think most can afford, in singapore to fork out 1-2k is really not that hard but some just want to find excuse not to own one.
Like i also looking for excuse not to own a rolex deep sea diver watch.:bsmilie::bsmilie:

We Singaporeans are spoilt by our comfortable lifestyle, able to snap up the latest gadgets with little finanial regards.. just look around and see the number of kids walking around with a large sensor DSLRs strapped round their necks, thinking that the best reviewed cameras will help them take better photographs. Most will be better served with $1-$2k spent on photography classes.

kwoksrus,

Yes we are an affluent society and in such countries people spend and this create jobs. This has been true since even before Roman times! In China, India and Middle East/Africa the Silk Route brought and spread riches to countless peoples around the globe.
I do agree with you that an excellent camera does not take good photographs by itself just like buying a BMW, Merc, Aston Martin or Ferrari make you a talented driver. In fact, money can't buy you taste. Take a look at the many ugly houses that are renovated with kitsch decor items like roman pillars, cherubs etc. The point is even ugly houses create jobs for and wealth. It is a know fact that the best cure for economic downturn is expenditure - by govts, individuals and corporations. It's only downside is the carbon footprint it leaves behind.

yes, i believe.. i saw some photos from photokina that displayed the black version..

 i wish my girlfriend have the same thinking as your better half.. so i will have a really good reason too.. haha!

yes, the fixed lens rather goes towards the wider side.. and for quite a number of street shooters, i know it is a bit of a downside because they are so used to seeing the world in 50mm frameline.. i also hope that maybe fuji would come up with another version with a normal lens..

but i have to agree, it is better to wait for a while before taking the plunge, see the full reviews, not from just one source, but from many..

Well, I did not really look earlier, but after looking, I did not like the picture samples shown in the reviews linked here, poor color and soft, and my better half agrees after I showed them. However, this was explained by one somewhere that this is not the final firmware, so we still cannot judge the Fuji fully.

So here is a good review, on camera handling ...

I really like the control for Dynamic Range, all cameras should have this.

I think the 'Japanese tourist' you saw was my partner. He was there on Sunday testing the X100.

BTW, he is Singaporean :-)

hmm, came to think about it, i also just realised that this may not be the final frimware, as with many (or maybe all) cameras, the firmwares will be updated.. hopefully, this is a good sign! hehe..

lens is sharper than all the other mainstream non-german primes at the same focal length/f stop.. sold!

coming soon... my neck long long liao

Oh okay, thanks for the info - cleared up some major questions. I will make enquiries with all the major photo stores, usually I buy from TK foto but they dont stock fujifilm so I have sent enquiry to Cathay Photo. I am overseas right now so might need to ask my dad to help me get it. Ahh I will be soooo frustrated if I don't get it in March, in time for my next assignment  . Do you have an idea on which is a good dealer to buy Fujifilm products from?

MS Color at AMK Central, NOT HUB

man.. really nice pictures from DirtyTrick! I am so poisoned!
