Fuji X100 - Part 2

I think so. Maybe previously I didn't use as much to realise it. But it's better now than after the warranty. I saw over at DPreview forum that the new replacement set is available already so it's a good thing in a way.

Wish ur x100 speedy recovery

I went shooting at the World Orchid Conference just now. It is overrated, the garden festival was much better and tickets cheaper. Anyway, I had fun shooting with my X100. Towards the end, I realised my X100 caught the sticky aperture problem...better early than late but I'm gonna miss it for sometime. :(
I feel you. :(

you mean you previosly do not have this problem and it suddenly happens or you only realised it now?
This is suppose to be the case.
It happen to mine x100 also.

How's yours? Have you got it back?
Yes it had been back in my hand. Hopefully it wont hit the issues again as I came to know from X100 forums that some owners get the problems twice if i dun remember in-correctly.

Cool! I think that may be before the new lens replacement mkII was available. I'm not too worried about it, just enjoy shooting and when the problem surfaces (if it's the old type), just send it to the service centre. :)

The new lens assembly should overcome the initial problem I think.

Yes, I in fact hope that mine was also with new lens replacement as I just got it back like 2 to 3 weeks ago. ;p
Which is some what close to the date they discussed.

Finally got back my sticky-aperture set after 4 weeks, just 1 day before my biz trip! they said the lens was replaced.

has anybody noticed any difference in the lens after being replaced by Fujifilm service center? Mine got replaced a few days ago, the ring to change the aperture size seems "firmer" now...with a discernible "click" which I switch between aperture size. For the record, my previous lens developed sticky aperture blade within 5 days of purchase!!! Kudos to Fuji service center for the quick response.

i just bought a x100 too...
after researching a little more into the cam from online feedbacks...

af is not stellar...
mf is not very usable...

but still can work around it... becos if i want a fast camera, i will look for something else.

but really hope fuji can update a firmware to improve the mf...

paid 1399 from ms color...with a case and 16gb card

If your subject is < 1.5m, switch to macro mode. Also, change size of focus box to the smallest using the rear dial. Using the EVF is also more accurate vs the optical VF. This drains the battery quite fast and lasts me about 100 shots/ batt only. Good thing is that 3rd party batts are quite cheap.

If you don't like to use the EVF. Observe the shifting of the focusing box when you half press the shutter button. And, adjusts the focus box to the location where the camera shown during half press of the shutter. I always adjust the focus confirmation box to the smaller for accurate AF.

i keep reading that can adjust the focus box to smaller size using the rear dial etc. but i tried and nothing changed. what exactly do i need to do to change the size of the box??

After reading through Fuji X100 part 1 & 2, I've a very strong urge to upgrade and to buy this beauty. I'm currently using LX5 for about 1 year now, do you think it's the right camera to upgrade?
Thanks :)

To change the size of the focus box. You need to;
1. Have the X100 camera.
2. Press and hold the "AF" button, and press the rear dial to adjust the size.
