Let's have a little game. The following pics are from imaging-resource, both are shot at ISO 200 and 100% crop. Without going to the website, guess which one is X100 and what is the other camera?

1.

2.

3.

4.

I guess pictures 2 & 4 are fom X100. Right?

Why?

I'll reveal the answer later. How about the 2nd question? Here's a hint: it's either a Canon or Nikon ;)

Why?
$7 for 1. I can buy 5 pieces. Total $35.
My x100 is sticky now. Have to send back to Fuji tomorrow. 1 month+ only!

Hmmm... My guess is a Nikon. :)

Don't feel bad, no one uses 5 spare batts anyway and $28 is about 2 Carls Junior meals. Also the stickiness can be fixed ;)

Heehee....in what way does it look like a Nikon?

Cos the ISO is better than Canon. Tell me the answer quick!

Ok, the first question you are half right. Picture 2 and 3 are from X100. ;p

As for the 2nd question, the camera is D700. :D

Ha Ha got my X100 yesterday... ya the battery sucks big time... was playing wit it yesterday after a full charge then today... took 2 shots and it went flat on me.
I used the JJC adapter tt come with the hood to screw in e filter.... no problem when i switch to macro mode.
Something very funny happened when i was buy my X100, the shop assistant at a well know shop in AMK hub told me the lever on the front is for the timer (lever is actually for switch view mode in the view finder) i was totally in disbelief.... I was doubting tt could all e research i've done be wrong.. lol
Anyway is a new experience in shooting altogether. glad i bought it.

blackchua: how much you bought it?

btw has the sticky blade been fixed for the newer batch yet?

Must be joking...such a big mistake.

And if it is only two shots and it is flat, then it is really the battery problem.

A brand new battery needs at least 3 full discharge/charge cycles to get it peak performance.
So, it not a problem, unless the battery get very hot when charging.

*If you play with the camera, sure you will get less shots. if you didn't then have to send back to the service center

I believe he was saying a full charge lasted him a day and 2 shots.

Anyway (info for new users) if u use it normally can shoot ard 250-300 shots (no flash). When it drops to 2 bars, it is a sign to change the battery immediately, it will last at most another few more shots.

I think to demand so much for a camera that did so many things is really unfair. If it can last one full day, it is really a good battery usage rate. Unless one wants to attach a vertical grip battery compartment with the x100?

Think of it this way.... when you ( being the users out there ) were using film.... did you take 7-10 Rolls of Film a day ( 250-350 photos... ) ??? I REALLY DOUBT SO. ???

So take it for granted that "this world of digital" saves you film costs / processing costs. :)

I for one think its great to get 250-350 shots on a $100 mem card and a $70 battery.... for my X100.... cause the film and processing would cost me $125-$180 ;)

My Nikon D3S shoots some 1200-1800+ photos on a single battery ( or 30 - 40 Rolls of film and processing costing $400-$500+ )

ENJOY CAPTURING THE MOMENT....... :) :)

i bought my X100!!

but i noticed at the shop when testing that when the aperture blade closes, it does not really form a round circle. at some part is something like oval. then i request another set to see and it's the same.

however i test the blade closing at all aperture and it seems to work so i just pay for it and went off.

I think this should be normal. Mine X100 not round too when stop down, my 2K + lens not round when stopping down too. As long it stop down to the F-stop, its fine.:D

Got my X100 about 2 weeks ago. Since yesterday evening, my custom display cannot show up in the optical viewfinder - no gridline, no virtual horizon, no histogram....... :( Checked the manual, fiddled with the menu on the cam and even reset the menu but still the same result. But the custom display shows perfectly on the LCD. Strange!

Press the "display/back" button under the command dial will activate the info on the OVF.
