800 bucks seems too high for a pns. It is entering the entry lvl dslr price range, the price range of the EVIL models. It may look nice but comparing with other compacts such as Olympus XZ-1, Canon s100 it depends on the customer would he want to pay more for looks.
Not to mention the competition from Pentax Q, upcoming Nikon V1, J1.
More reviews would be needed to see what has X10 got over its competitiors. It is interesting but to me I would consider twice because of the price.
The moment we categorise a camera into types (MFT, PnS, Prosumer, DSLR) instead of the image quality performance, then we are really judging a book by its cover. Those who put the x100 into PnS territory was sorely mistaken when it comes to IQ. Don't make the same mistakes twice IMHO.
Do buy a camera that is worth every penny when it comes to the images it produces. No point paying close to $1000 or beyond when it cannot even go beyond the image quality of a compact camera in the $300-500 region.
I saw the official x10 gallery and I must say, N1 should look at what can be done to small sized sensor. The EXR processor is certainly doing a good job.
