Fuji X10, so pretty!

That would be around $730 if convert to SG dollars. Still ex and Singapore sure sell more ex than Malaysia one..:( Was hoping it will be $700 max.

Heard from one of my Malaysia friend that X10 will be selling at RM1800. Dunno true anot.

I asked Cathay already and they have no clue, not even a launch date.

If it’s main competitors are the G12 and P7100 then that price would be pretty reasonable.

For my intended usage, its mainly static people shots and scenery. So if the X10 can perform as well (noise wise) at ISO 800 as the X100 at ISO 3200, its good enough for me. I normally shot my X100 at F4-5.6 (for the kind of depth of field I need), ranging from ISO 800-3200 around 1/60 second.

If I shot the X10 at F2-2.8 (which should be around the same depth of field as the X100 at F4-5.6) at 1/15-1/30 (which can easily get away with due to optical image stabilisation, which the X10 has, but X100 does not), I figure I would be in the ISO 200-800 range. That might give close enough quality noise wise and give zoom capability, hopefully better focussing and lighter.

So for me, the X10 is looking to be promising. Of course, we need to see how well it handles ISO 800 ...

There is an ISO800 sample here shot with the pre-production X10 unit.

Hi guys....

I am not in tuned with the news of X10, is it available in store and what is the expected price range? It is a seductive gem...

Fujifilm Singapore facebook mentioned that it should be available in mid-end October, although no definitive date or price.

I emailed fuji and the response was around November.

From dpreview - Price of the X10 has been announced - US$599.95 and available in early November.

X100 was US$1200 at launch, so probably X10 will cost around S$800+/-? Seems a sensible pricing i think. Guess still need to hear the official pricing from Fujifilm Singapore.

800 bucks seems too high for a pns. It is entering the entry lvl dslr price range, the price range of the EVIL models. It may look nice but comparing with other compacts such as Olympus XZ-1, Canon s100 it depends on the customer would he want to pay more for looks.

Not to mention the competition from Pentax Q, upcoming Nikon V1, J1.

More reviews would be needed to see what has X10 got over its competitiors. It is interesting but to me I would consider twice because of the price.

I think X10 is more in the category of G12 and P7100 than S100 or XZ-1. It's not just paying for the asthetics. But ya, whether this is worth it to get really depends on what one wants out of the camera. Looking forward to seeing the reviews when this is out on the market.

My suggestion is wait for the ILS offering first before making a decision. Those already have x100 I don't think will feel the pinch not having the x10. But the new ILS? THAT will be a painful pinch if the promised performance is better than a full frame.

Wait or Consider carefully...for those with x100.
Buy... for those who are looking for a good compact camera to learn photography.
Budget issue? Wait for the ILS offering. Use the money for the x10 on the new ILS. If the new ILS is not up to expectation, get the x10 then. By that time the price would have dropped.
