I found that the AF is quite snappy compared to the xe1 that I used in the shop. Though, I suspect the xe1 doesn't have the new fw, so can't really compare

. Overall, the AF is fast for the 16-50 lens. I've tried the 35 1.4 lens and found that it took a little while to lock focus compared to the 16-50. I read that 35mm does focus a little slow but it's a beautiful lens with a very nice aperture ring with numbers. The build quality of the XM-1 is very good except for that silver shutter button. The camera is smaller than the xe1 and your *pinkie* last finger doesn't have much place to go except to the base of the camera. Very quickly my finger felt tired and uncomfortable. Unlike the XE1 where the ergonomics are better and felt more solid holding it with one hand. Fortunately, the XM1 came with a leather case that added a little bulk to it but made the camera much more comfortable to hold. Overall, XE1 and XM1 are great cameras!
