wah. how i wish 3rd party one for NEX can do that. does it capture the F stop?

Fuji adapter is a smart adapter, it allows autofocus on adapted lens! :bsmilie:

Nah just joking... it is a smart adapter. By pressing the button at its side, you can access the sub-menus to fine-tune:
1. color shift correction (to correct purple cast on wide angle lenses).
2. barrel/pincushion distortion correction
3. vignette/shading correction

The Fuji adapter also allows you to punch in the focal length of the adapted lens. On the x-pro1 the projected framelines on the OVF will match the focal length entered. Not only that you can identify the focal length used to capture the shot (the EXIF will show the focal length but not the model of the lens. On my CV12 it shows 12mm... useful if you have more than 1 adapted lens.

Another thing is the Fuji adapter automatically turn on the "shoot without lens" function. Some of us might prefer to turn this off when we use our XF lens.

Dun think any adapters in d market can do that automatically. D Fuji adapter allows u to punch in the focal length manually but does it allow u to punch in the aperture reading?

Ooo... no wonder its so ex... But I still prefer the helicoid function of the Hawk Factory ones... Any issues wif leaving the shoot without lens options turned on when shooting wif XF lenses? Mine is still left turned on... LOL

Hawk adapter is useful if you do macro/ close-up frequently. I prefer to leave the "shoot without lens" option off because this ensure my lens is properly mounted before I take any photo.

Nope only allow focal length

Ok... so actually no adverse effect even if I leave it on rite? I dun wanna haf issues of accidentally pressing the shutter release when no lens is attached. LOL. So no one's starting a X-E1 photo sharing thread?

I'm planning to go Japan for a business trip and possibly get XE-1 there. I was wondering anyone know if the language can be switch from Japanese to English.

Think d firmware should b universal to cater to international buyers in Japan.

As far as i know, all fuji cameras are in built with an english menu. When I was last in japan, the x100 and the Xpro1 both had an english menu option, but I suggest u check again when u are there. In japan, they are offering with the 18-55 as a kit for 1985SGD. You can request a tourist tax refund of 5%. after the purchase.

Quite a good price after tax refund.. only 1885 SGD...

if you go for the rebates lagi better, you get 10%. You can use that to buy accessories. Sad that singapore is one of the most expensive places for cameras when we used to be one of the cheapest many years ago. Think fuji should reprice their x-E1. Singapore has one of the largest stock level it seems.

i bought my x100 from Japan 2 years ago .. and the menu can be switched to English .. besides the tax rebate ... if you managed to get membership for Yodobashi or Bic Camera .. you can get store value points ranging from 8 to 10% depending on whether you pay by credit card or cash ...

Just a little tip of doing Zone Focusing...

Set the camera to manual focus mode first. Then simply point the camera at some object that's located at the distance you'd like to use for zone focus (for street photography, I point it at a spot about 3 paces in front of me on the ground and then press the AE-L/AF-L button. It instantly locks the lens at that distance. Presto... zone focused!

Cheers..

Bro... u need the Summicron 35 ASPH... I sell you mine? Rest assured that all your pics will be tack sharp from then on. I dun need it anymore as the XF 35mm kit lens on the X-E1 is as tack sharp as the Summicron 35 ASPH. Intend to sell it and get the Pre ASPH Summilux 35 instead. Want the glowy dreamy looks. keke..
