Will see how when the actual kit zoom lens is available and will do some test shots before deciding. Guessing that I will only maximise the 18mm of the zoom range, and might as well get the 18mm F2 instead.

Same thoughts here..
I need smth wider that 35mm mainly for indoor shots..

Walkabout 35mm is perfect for me..

Can't believe that there are so many hia-dee here trying to sell brand new unused X-E1 body or mint condition set at near $1,000 price just to get the kit zoom lens.

Good timing for anyone planning to get the X-E1 body and pairing with prime lens. Super buy now if you bargain well!

I think there are more than 5 mint set in the BNS site now... and still growing!

Local shops here are really laughing to the banks....

If your X-E1 is a perfectly good set, better keep it. Not sure if all the quality of X-E1 is the same, but when I bought my X-Pro1 previously, found 2 sets in the shop were with dead dots in the EVF and 1 set with 1 button not very sensitive to pressing.

Zoom lens coming next week or week after, and can easily buy one after the initial heat. Perhaps a second hand set with a good discount?

SITEX pricing .. $2099 with 18-55mm .. must be crazy. Even minus their $169 in gifts = $1930. And when u buy from most of the popular shops, you can get way below that and you also get some freebies (16GB card, $20 voucher, cleaning kit, free battery etc. So don't go crazy at SITEX.

This is not realistic as even the X-Pro1 is selling still at $2399, when you can get it at around $2000.

So if we take $350-$400 away from the SRP, it should be around $1700.

X-E1 body alone is around $1,250. SRP is still $1,499. Around $250 more expensive.

Pair up with another buddy and you can get the body cheap cheap brand new and the other buddy get the kit zoom lens. Win Win!

Looking at the trends of the BNS, you should be able to get the X-E1 body alone, brand new collect from the shop, at around $1,000. Save $499 from SRP, or $299 if consider the current market price for body alone at $1,299.
