II was there spoken to a sale from fujifilm, he offered me 1890 or 1888. I'm sire it 1.8k+. for the XE1 with 18-55 kit lens.
so I suggest u look for the correct sales and negotiations. =)

Guess the only 2 items with real value in the freebies will be the original battery and the $20 voucher, which adds up around $100 worth. 16gb card is given free in almost all cameras now, unless the freebies include 2 x 16GB card, which will add another $10 worth since it is normal speed type.

So if it is $1888 - $100 will be $1788, same as most regular stores selling this, without further negotiation.

Like all new cameras in their initial launch, price is normally higher due to high demand. Even the mighty X-Pro1 and Nex 7 is gradually falling in price to a more decent level. E.g. X100 for example, was sold initially at $1,699 (first few weeks) and then dropped to a more stable price around $1,300. You can probably get a brand new set at $1.2k+ now.

Buy now if you can't wait, or save some cash if not in hurry, especially after the initial hot demand.

As for cases, there are not many choices currently given that it is such a new camera. You can find half cases now with the best is from Gariz, or just get the original one (light brown one colour) which are both nice except colour preference. Full case with top cover, don't think it is available yet, but Gariz has produced those for other models before, and won't be surprised if they make one for X-E1. Local shops won't bring in this though, and it is not sellable here.

I've been trolling this thread for a while waiting for the XF18-55 to launch. Now that it's finally here, the cheapest I've found for the body + zoom kit + 16gb sd card is $1786. <not sure if it's appropriate to state which shop but so far, all the prices I to have been CS recommended shops. >

Wondering if anyone has a better price or any advice to wait?

Looking to get a half case + top cover and an eye-fi x2 pro as well. Anyone has recommendations?

Thanks for the tip. Looking to get in time to fly on 16th dec. maybe wait another 2 weeks and the price might stabilize or drop a little more. I checked HK prices too. About $100 cheaper before shipment and taxes I guess it'll come to about the same.

Match technical, Gariz or Talez. Some will go for Mr Tay's customized soft release button which fits better on d x-e1.

Some buttons will sit abit taller n also looser onto d shutter button. At least both match technical n Talez ones r tall n sit abit loose.

Depends if u gonna buy more stuff together wif d X-E1 purchase. U can go as low as 1740.

Gariz case I bought from TK Foto. You can try your luck there. Helps in protecting part of the body, looks better, and improve the grip for more stable shots. Sold my handgrip as a result.

Yeah, i tested the brown gariz case @ MS Color this afternoon, found the grip to be better as it fits better into my bigger hands. They dun haf the black one, quite a waste so I actually asked them to reserve the Black Gariz case and also the Match Technical Thumb Grip when it arrives. So just wait out till beginning next month. Cheers.

Oopz... I just bought it online @ Qoo100 website. After using all my coupons, bought the black Gariz case for 99 SGD. Just pending delivery... Now left the Thumb Grip... still waiting... :bsmilie:
