How much did you pay for the S602? $1260? Does it come with any freebies?

$1200 including GST(the salesman says they absorb GST) with standard items.

Yeah... $1200! Buy! Buy! Buy!

:Later,

Ai ya! Never thought Fujifilm's interpolated 6MP would be coming down to consumer level so fast (it was the S1 Pro last time). And just $1200 somemore. Just bought C2100UZ four months back. A little bit regret.

But C2100UZ has stabilized 10x zoom (which is merely enough in some situation). S602Z has that '6MP' but only 6x zoom with NO IS. Difficult lah...

By the way, most people think if we print mostly 4R size photos, we need only 2 or 3MP. But I did try print a 6MP into 4R. The resulting photo was superb, razor sharp!!!

And one question:
Anybody compared a same photo printed by photo studio and inkjet (1440dpi@4pl)? Is the shop's print sharper (besides dotless)? Would like to try one day.

It'll take CF I cards, you can read about Dave's tests with some cards at http://www.imaging-resource.com/PRODS/F602/F62A7.HTM

I think Fuji doesn't recommend CF cards because most of them cannot keep up with the write speeds the S602 needs, esp for the movie mode.

Hi relecx,
Do you mean the microdrive writes faster than CF?

Is the tripod and the case part of the standard items ?

just got the cam. it feels just like a slr and focuses really fast. i find its evf very good. the microdrive does get pretty hot after several shots. perhaps that's why the lid is made of metal.

first impression- excellant and pretty heavy with battery.

since this cam supports bith cf and sm which is
1. faster
2. cheaper
3. more popular

??:dunno:

Microdrive is a miniaturised HD while SM is not. The MD will need to spin up and therefore consumes slightly more time, if noticeable at all, as compared to SM. But in terms of cost to capacity ratio, microdrive is smaller and thus more cost efficient. Max capacity of 1GB. For SM, maxes @ 128MB.

Recommendation- IBM microdrive 1GB @ 389 level 4 SLS.

Just my experience with AP- pleasant and direct. Make sure you know what you want and do read up b4 buying from them.

BTW i saw lots of 6800 around- just beside the 602s on top of the shelves.

Does it come with a PCMCIA adapter?

BTW, the tele (1.5x) and wide angle (0.79x) goes at 190 each @ AP. Includes original ring adapter 55mm. Thought wanted to get the third party 55-52mm ring adapter but decided against cause silver in color. Will be getting both tele and wide angle probably end of month, as will need them for the NZ/Spain Trip. Any better recommendations?

Thanks in advance.

To S602Z owners,

Can you please give me answers of these:

1. Is it possible (or easy) to get clear shots at full zoom (6x) by handheld? Cause S602Z has no IS.

2. What's the image size of an interpolated 6MP photo at jpeg normal quality?

Thanks.
