Just curious... any idea what time the fireworks will start?
last weekend, i was on Sheares bridge. it started about 7.30, 7.40 or so.

Thanks Ckiang for sharing with us the locations and your images. Hmm... so no other places ah? I've been to those locations over the last few years... Got some shots a bit similar to yours also. This year, think I'm going to give it a miss. Cos I find the foreground really very uninteresting...almost all black. Sigh.. they should think of us photographers and start early! Hee-hee... Anyway, for those who are trying it the first time round, have fun! For me, nah... sian liao. :)

Not that I dunwan to go; got cellgroup meeting tomorrow evening.

Not sure tomorrow can make it on time or not, need to recharge all the batteries after morning event.....

I am interested in taking pictures of the fireworks, but I have the tickets to the preview tomorrow. I wonder how easy it would be to set up the tripod to take a picture of the fireworks?

Have anybody tried doing that in the stadium itself?

In the first place, are we allowed to move freely around the stadium to take pictures? :dunno:

nopes. u cant move around. u'll be pretty much stuck within ur gallery area.
and u cant choose where to sit either... u'll be directed to ur seats when u go in... cant choose. and if ur thinking of setting up tripod... well... gonna be hard... not exactly a lot of room where u sit.

This is a confirmation for the outing tomorrow.

We will meet at 4~4:15pm outside Cathay, Penisula Plaza. We will be leaving 4:30pm ON THE DOT, so don't be late. We won't wait for you.

For those who need to call me, I can be reached @ 9-815-0423. See you!

Regards
CK

Oh no .... if that's the case, don't feel like going to the preview already :(

My sentiments precisely. Surely where there's a will, there's a way? ;)

Uh, I've never been to any of the NDP celebrations before. They DO allow cameras right?

you can bring cameras in...
and i suppose u get some leeway to move around when fireworks come up...
but dont expect them to let u set up a tripod in the middle of a walkway.

I'll want to tag along too
will try to make it!

but how do we ID ya then?
haha
or follow the crowd then !?
HA.

Ckiang, I think you'll have to 'announce' your Hp number for the ease of communication. Don't worry, so far I've not encountered any 'funny' characters @ Clubsnap yet! ;)

You haven't met me rite?
CKiang, I'll be ringing you in the middle of the night ...

Hi All...

For the Fireworks photo.....let sat if you have a consumer tripod(the non pro type) which are generally light ......a good method to further stabilize the camera during the BULD photography is to bring along a slingbag/ pouch loaded with something (any personal stuff which may make the pouch be a weight) .

Then hang this bag on your lens and let it hang down. This will help keep reduce vibration and shakes.

For the dark object cover, a good simple one would be a BLACK CAP....like those baseball ones.

Some caps can retain their shape when taken off and use the interior of the head portion. Or if the cap is the limp type, you can use the VISOR part which is normally BLACK,MATTED and Comfortable enough to hold.

Here is a weblink which i just created after writing the message above....(i'm sure there would be people who "Catch no ball - on what i'm try to say)....- here is the link....

try out......and have fun
