Ferrari lang gar

No of course I am not suspecting the traffic light allows both sides to move at the same time. What I am saying here is, if the timing to change from green to red is too fast, cars travelling on a clear straight road may not have enough time to respond when they see the change very near to the traffic light. The theory is that car should slow down as they approach the traffic light regardless of the traffic light signal situation to react and anticipate the change.

How many of us actually slow down without any reasons with a clear road ahead and ho many of us actually beat the traffic light by increasing speed so as not to be caught by the camera? If we know when it is going to change, then you will have the opportunity to react and slow down. People behind you also know your purpose and not that you feel the light is going to change anytime.

I must qualify that I am not justifying for the ferrari incident but just my personal experiences on the road.

At the speed he was travelling, he should've saw the amber then red light few hundred metres before but stopping or even slowing down was not in his mind. If he had more alcohol than he can handled, then he should've taken a cab

In Malaysia & China, they have countdown timers on the traffic lights so we know how long to wait. Singapore tried a pilot project on this many years ago @ the ECP/AYE exit towards Rochor/Beach rd junction (very near the accident site) but IIRC they quoted S$30K per system!!! If that's so expensive, how can Malaysia afford it even in their small towns?

Look at the video. There was more than enough time for him to stop... IF he had been driving at legal speeds!

+1

Then you must be one of those bad drivers.

Good drivers must be prepare to stop at traffic light so they must slow down their car to a reasonable speed when they are approaching the traffic light.

I don't dare to cross the road when the green man pop out if I see the car approaching didn't slow down and seem to have no intention to stop.

Many people have been knock down by drivers who don't stop at traffic light.

Bringing up this issue for political motives is just plain stupid. What are the motives of doing so? Turn Singapore into a North Korean/Nazi State where no one can migrate or immigrate, and where the foreigners/minorities/immigrants are hated even though the locals themselves are capable of such crimes?

This will definitely not sit well with the international NGOs if it comes to pass

I must admit in my 30+ years driving, I did cross the traffic lights after the green has changed many times. I am not sure if all drivers never have such problem.

I also qualify that I am not referring to this case per se but generally for better safety of our road. What happen we cannot rewind but we can work on future.

Yes, never cross till you see the cars stopped.

My take is, when the traffic light turned red, the Ferarri is probably at the previous traffic light near the burger king bus stop. That's based on his speed. I read the article where a certain ~<€$$# Matin dog wrote that the taxi driver should check his surrounding. If the Ferarri is so far away, and with all the barricades in the vicinity, how the hack can anyone see a flying car?!! Its speed is definitely more than 120km/hr by the way, if less I chop .......... :p

So which is more disgusting- innocent PRCs who behave in Singapore(but got implicated by the Ferrari driver), or this bloodless Singaporean?

Are we going to say ALL Singaporeans are heartless creatures? Just because of this guy
I'm sure people who wish to put their shoulder to it will find a way to put him into a box and brand him as something. It can be elite, rich, spoilt, etc...

Sometimes I find it a little weird that the same people who complain about divisions within our education system (i.e. streaming) can be so vocal about "streaming" the inhabitants of our little island in their minds.

Every class of persons, whatever their origin, all these frankly, artificial lines that we draw - all of them have a variety and a spectrum of personalities within. Every individual should be taken as that - an individual.

Its a fact that many KTV hoestess or WL holds a student pass here so that they can work the profession. Working is the real object and studying is just a front to get the VISA to stay here.

Aiya, who will admit they work in niteclub to the press

Most importantly, EASB is a normal U. Few years ago, I challenged 1 lady when she told me she is from NUS. You know what happened after that? She threw her matriculation card right smack into my face. :)

I confirm guarantee chop she is an undergraduate. But she was studying in the then popular KTV in Tg Pagar, which is considered a mid-high end KTV, at 2am. So what's your take on the report, I leave it to you :)

If she is indeed merely a student, then comes the question of what is a student doing dressed so "lightly" in the ferrari belonging to a rich man probably 10 years her senior so early in the morning?

I guess there are some that don't. Imagine, come here to study, get to party every night and earn $6-7k monthly....haha. Dunno got this type of job for guys or not hor :p

Erh got some smart aleck claims it could be 110km/h. Ai chop mai? :bsmilie: but I'm with you dude. No way below 120km/h.

Open Source Physics Simulations by lookang: What evidence(s) are there of the speed of the Ferrari was traveling at 140± 30 km/hr?

Btw, a GTO exhaust is loud, louder than normal 599. With his accelerration, people will hear it coming hundreds of metres away & that guy who jaywalked couple of seconds before didn't seem to hear nor see him coming. He is an important witness. The Ferrari could be stationery at the previous traffic which is about a 100m away & blasted off only to beat this red light but my guess is he was already speeding far earlier from CHIJMES. Only LTA will know what was the traffic lights along that street @ that point of time.

Here's news that ma-chi wasn't drunk which means the insurance company will have to pay.....
