thanks man! Hehe.. there's a good diving spot in Bali (off shore island though) about 5 hrs away from Kuta :)

Yeah go Bali but the weather... heh heh.. be careful coz it's damn hot :sweat:

* continued - Day 02

Day 02 - Ubud Village - Cafe Wayan. Heh heh... a close friend's recommendation to come here to try the "DEATH BY CHOCOLATE CAKE"... the place can be very deceptive in the shop front. When you walk into the area, it opens up to a deep garden with authentic pavilions for guests. Surrounded by fountains and soothing foilage, to have a meal here is a total gourmet's heaven! This cafe has been opened since 1980s

Day 02 - Ubud Village - Cafe Wayan. Here's the ultimate "sin"! Made from imported US and UK ingrediants, the cake is total fudge as the body, creamy on the outside and worse... a choc sauce with peppermint mixed in.... really a killer for the choc-lover! :D

Day 02 - Ubud Village - Cafe Wayan. Okie... the cafe is situated around 25 mins walk from the Ubud square entrance... but time was very tight for us and we can't afford the time to walk back up, my dear galfriend suggested we take a form of transport WHICH turned out to be these 2 friendly employees of Cafe Wayan. For a small fee of RP20000, a scouter ride seems super adventurous.. heh heh heh

Day 02 - Ubud Village - Cafe Wayan. Here we go!! Pardon my excitment here coz it's really a long time since I rode pillon on a bike
Bali59.jpg

Day 02 - Ubud Village - Cafe Wayan. Okie.... I can't resist this shot also... hehehe... : ) That's me riding pillon

* continued - Day 02

Day 02 - Ubud Village - Over in Ubud, handicrafts and art carvings are the main highlights... the place is saturated with these vendors trying to sell you their wares. Of coz, the art of bargaining comes in handy here : D
Bali61.jpg

Day 02 - Ubud Village - when I saw this scene, I remembered a similar shot by a fellow CS'er but I have the same problem as him.. can't go wide enough to show more...sad : ( This was shot from the waist. There's 3 stores side by side selling woven baskets

Wel.. .. here ends Day 02 ;)

Very nice collection, you make me wanna go too!!! Who knows, maybe for the holidays if my family lets me go after the blast last time. :(

The above pic reminds me of back home, but then again back home is far far far away from Indonesia and Bali. :D

Thanks for sharing the great stuff!!!! :thumbsup:

Yeah.. Day 03! Okie.. woke up early to catch the superb sunrise just outside the hotel down the beach. Didn't managed to catch the sunrise on the 2nd day coz Day 01 was too tiring so slept thru. Righty, 0615hr and I'm out at the beach with the sun's just peeping over the horizon. Metering for sunrise is slightly harder than metering for sunsets... hmm.. lotsa to learn.

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - Yeah!!! Finally managed to get up around 0610hr to catch the sunrise... the sand in Grand Bali Beach's very coarse so a lot of discomfort walking out to the receding tide even with sandels

Rodrigues Island - Mauritius

Rodrigues where life is serene, no stress, people still walk leisurely around, stop on the road for a chat even in the main town, on weekdays beaches are empty, the sea is beautiful, diving there is fabulous... life is slow. Huge folklore and tradition... That place is great and 110 Km Sq, and 35,000 inhabitants!!! :D

Go there, you will be most welcomed! :sweatsm:

First take plane to Mauritius then take internal flight to Rodrigues :)

Well, all I can say is: GO GO GO :D

Visit Rodrigues when you go, you will pay almost nothing once you are in Mauritius (life cheap!), but the experience will be huge. If I am there, I can be your guide. Cheap and very safe places to stay as well... and the people really friendly.

Haiz... That's the difference between travelling for work and leisure... No photos for my trip to Germany... Don't even have time to see anything!!!! :cry: :cry: :cry: :(

First of all, just love your Bali series..!!

I can't help but notice that you've missed Tana Lot. Any reason ?

Incidentally, I'll be visiting Bali in 2 weeks' time. Any place you think is a "must go"? Will only have 1 day to walk around :P....

Hi Soulman... hahha.. I have not forgotten Tanah Lot or Sea Temple :) It's coming on Day 03's posting.. I've just started on day 03's sunrise ;) Thanks for your comments.. just give me a little more time to post them up :)

Hehehe.. Del... you just have to really catch some shots on the way to work den.. would love to hear about Germany though.. the modern landscape there's really something ya? tot you borrowed Leon's cam?

* continued - Day 03

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - Sunrise. Lovely isn't it?
Bali65.jpg

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - Sunrise. Here comes the sun! Metering for the sunrise is really tricky as light changes faster than sunset so tried a few metering areas for the best results : )
Bali64.jpg

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - Sunrise
Bali66.jpg

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - Sunrise. As the sun rises up... it's really a humble experience to witness the wonderful work of God.. to see night turn into day.. to see His glory revealed in the simplest thing such as giving us day and night.
Bali67.jpg

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - Sunrise. Underexposed this one to get the "orb of light" from the sun.. still figuring out how to... not very satisfactory but the saturation's simply fantastic. By changing the orientation, you get a different perspective and a different mood.

* continued - Day 03

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - Sunrise. The sun's about up @ 0640hr. Switched to the 28-105 with Cir.PL for this one.
Bali70.jpg

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - Sunrise. Hmm.... same composition as the one in Kuta beach.. a boat seemed to fill the focus well enough : )
Bali71.jpg

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - Check out the sand.. very coarse right... hmm.... :cry:
Bali72.jpg

Day 03 - Grand Bali Beach - This guy has been working with his fishing net ever since I came to the beach... a quiet being with a backdrop of mountains makes this shot very special. A pity I wasn't ready to go down to his area to take a close up but I like this far-away composition
Bali73.jpg

More to come! ;)

Cool! Okie. you can visit Kuta Square where you can go down to the beach in the evening so plan your 1 day itinerary as such. Go to Ubud Village or Lake Batur in the early morning and return to Kuta Square aroud late afternoon to catch the sunset at the beach. But do calculate the journey time.. sometimes inbetween places can last for 1 hour worth of travelling :)

Leon's cam, ah? He wanted to take pictures, so cannot borrow (Von not around to occupy his time mah... Heh!) Huh? What modern landscape?!?!? They only have a handful of buildings that is more than 4 storey high.... And the place of work is out of town, in some industrial work area. Nothing there... Unless you want to keep shots of car dealers, supermarket, tools supermarket, and of course maufacturing bldgs and more manufacturing buildings... By the time I can walk around to try some shots, it was already dark... Their daylight is so different from ours... Damn bloody cold as well... Even now back here, I'm still not adjusted to the weather yet... Dunno why the weather here decided to make it the most humid and hot week I have ever known... No rain/wind to relieve the heat at all...

But I have to say... I really like your shots.... Very nice... So when is the studio thingy going to happen??? SMS me hor!

Opportunity knocks... see beyond the concrete walls of industrial buildings and see the life that exist within :) well, at least that what I would do.. not everyone gets a chance to visit Germany ya know ;)

hahah.. yeah.. the weather's really a killer.. my bill for this month and next will be sky-high liao.. sigh.....

Hehe heh.. thanks for the appreciation :) will do. Should be happening within 2 weeks from now

Kuta Square - Kuta beach - Sunset.
These 2 kids were so engrossed in their playing of sand that they are oblivious to the presence of this photog happily composing and shooting them. This is my personal fav shot :)
